✈️ Historic first landing at Leicester!

Yesterday, we welcomed a Pilatus PC-24 light business jet to Leicester for the very first time. Operated by , the aircraft touched down as the first stop on its 2026 UK demo tour.

A fantastic sight on the apron and a rare visitor for aviation enthusiasts to catch! 👀

Did you see it? We’d love to hear from anyone who spotted the aircraft during its visit. Here’s hoping we see the PC-24 back at Leicester again soon!

🌧️ 1940s Fly-In is Still Going Ahead! ✈️🇬🇧

It wouldn’t be a proper British summer without a few rain showers, would it?

Despite the forecast, we’re delighted to confirm that the 1940s Fly-In at Leicester Aerodrome is still going ahead as planned on 6th June!

Our 1940s village is fully set up and ready to welcome visitors, with plenty to see and do throughout the day. If the weather does decide to remind us we’re in Britain, don’t worry – we have a large marquee and plenty of sheltered areas where you can stay dry while enjoying the atmosphere.

There’ll be live music (6-9pm), period exhibits, military vehicles, classic aircraft, afternoon tea, and all the sights and sounds of the 1940s. Whether you’re a seasoned re-enactor, aviation enthusiast, or just looking for a unique family day out, there’s something for everyone.

So dust off your 1940s rain boots and mac, embrace the wartime spirit of carrying on regardless, and join us for a wonderful day of history, heritage, and community.
