The ideal candidate is someone that is ‘handy’ when it comes to DIY and has excellent attention to detail. Quality of quantity.

The conversions include;

👉 Joinery

👉 Electrics

👉 Plumbing

👉 Fabrication

Salary is very much dependent on your current skillset and will range from £30k-£33k Salary.

No weekends (Although they are available at overtime rate work dependent)

Mon - Fri, 8am - 5.30pm.

It’s a reminder just how complex the job of a vehicle technician has become.

Today’s technicians are truly multi-faceted engineers, combining skills from several trades every single day:

One of Tom’s jobs for today is replacing the EGR Cooler and Glow Plugs on this lovely Defender.

🔋⚡ Another complex EV repair successfully completed!

This 2021 Cupra Formentor came to us with a hybrid system failure - completely inoperative. Our diagnostic evaluation revealed a fault, pointing towards a faulty coolant temperature sensor deep inside the high-voltage battery pack.

The sensor wasn't easily accessible - we had to:

✅ Safely de-energise the entire HV system using manufacturer protocols
✅ Evacuate all battery coolant
✅ Remove the massive battery pack from the vehicle
✅ Carefully open the battery to access sensors integrated with individual module coolant lines

After replacing the faulty sensor, we rebuilt everything, re-energised the system, cleared all faults, and fully charged the battery. The Formentor is back on the road! 🚗

This is why EV repairs require specialist knowledge and equipment. At Dack Motor Group, we're equipped and trained for these complex hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
