Great news for volunteer drivers - perhaps this news will encourage you to volunteer - please get in touch with us if this might be something you would like to consider doing

We’re pleased that the Chancellor has announced an uplift to the Approved Mileage Allowance Payment (AMAP) to enable volunteer drivers to be reimbursed tax-free up to 55p per mile.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our campaign to end the outdated 2011 rate. We’re proud to have brought together a dozen leading voluntary sector organisations and mobilised hundreds of CTA members since 2022 to successfully make the case for change to Ministers, MPs and officials.

However, there is still work to be done, as Community Transport now needs the financial resources to implement the new AMAP rate. Central, devolved and local government should deliver uplifts to grants and contracts which cover the additional costs. Voluntary organisations’ bids for grants and contracts for 2026/27 were based on the previous rate of 45p at a time when their budgets are already being squeezed by inflation and rising demand.

We’ll be urging the Chancellor to address this at the earliest opportunity or in the next Budget.

Mae Eisteddfod y Garreg Las yn nesáu, ac hoffai pwyllgor yr Eisteddfod weld ein hardal leol yn edrych yn groesawgar, lliwgar ac yn llawn ysbryd cymunedol cyn y digwyddiad arbennig hwn ar ddechrau mis Awst.
Rydym yn chwilio am bobl i helpu. Y bwriad yw i addurno’r pentrefi a’r ardaloedd cyfagos o’r 4ydd o Orffennaf ymlaen. Gall hyd yn oed y sawl sy’n byw ar gyrion y pentrefi helpu i ddathlu’r achlysur.
Rydym yn chwilio am:�• Baent (addas ar gyfer defnydd tu allan)�• Paledi neu bren addas ar gyfer paentio�• Syniadau creadigol�• Bobol i helpu a digon o frwdfrydedd!
Bydd sesiwn greadigol yn Neuadd Bwlch y Groes ar y 1af o Fehefin (o 5pm ymlaen), felly dewch draw, a dewch ag unrhyw adnoddau, syniadau neu ysbrydoliaeth gyda chi.
Byddai’n hyfryd gweithio gyda’n gilydd i wneud yr ardal yn ddeuniadol ar gyfer Eisteddfod y Garreg Las. Mae croeso i bawb i ymuno a byddai unrhyw help yn cael ei werthfawrogi’n fawr.

Calling all creative people of Tegryn, Bwlch y Groes, Clydau and Cilrhedyn!
As many of you know, Eisteddfod y Garreg Las is fast approaching, and the Eisteddfod committee would love to see our local area looking welcoming, colourful and full of community spirit ahead of this special event at the beginning of August.
We’re looking for people who would like to help decorate the villages and surrounding areas from 4th July onwards. Whether it’s field entrances, gates, walls, pallets, wooden displays or anything else you can think of, all ideas and creativity are very welcome. Even the outskirts of the villages can help celebrate the occasion and make visitors feel at home.
We’re also looking for:
• Donated paint (suitable for outdoors)
• Pallets or wood suitable for painting
• Creative ideas and designs
• Helping hands and plenty of enthusiasm!
There will be a creative session at Bwlch y Groes Hall on 1st June (5pm onwards) so please come along if you can and bring along any resources, ideas or inspiration.
It would be wonderful to work together to make the area look its best for Eisteddfod y Garreg Las. Everyone is welcome and any help, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any ideas and are willing to give us a hand it would be greatly appreciated .
