Great to see another project at Bishopstone Station unveiled today.

The old platform waiting room now fully restored and used as an educational space to showcase the history of the station and local area.

Well done as ever to Barbara Mine and the Friends of Bishopstone Station.

We were delighted to have helped with grant funding along with Community Rail Network.

Some great and inspirational speakers, a big thank you to South Western Railway

This is exactly what our grants are about - working with the industry to find sustainable uses for redundant railway spaces.

We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this space.

Today, it was great to visit the exhibition in Felixstowe held by Trimley Station Regeneration Project to showcase the work they are doing to find a future for the station building.

They have one day left, so do visit if you’re in the area. They have had large numbers of interested people coming through the door and are doing a great job to highlight the station, its history and its future.

Great to see lots of comments in their visitors book and ideas for what it could become.

Our friends at Oxford Preservation Trust are organising a drop-in event & guided walks on Wed 20 May to celebrate the 175th anniversary of one of Oxford's most remarkable pieces of Victorian engineering which we are proud to have supported in its restoration over a number of years. Designed by celebrated engineer Robert Stephenson, and brought into use in 1851, the Rewley Road Swing Bridge is thought to be the earliest surviving moving-element railway bridge in the world. Do visit if you've never been, it's a remarkable structure.

Introducing our first public event, we have been working hard behind the scenes to make this happen. From Thursday 14th May - Wednesday 20th we will be holding an exhibition at the 142 Gallery in Felixstowe, opening at 10am each morning.

Please come visit and support us. Ask questions about the project, meet our team, suggest ideas for the buildings next use, view historic photographs of Trimley Station, learn about its history and more.

Entry is Free !
This exhibition is for one week only so you don’t want to miss it.

We are expecting the exhibition to be packed full of stuff so there will be loads of interesting things related to the station and the Felixstowe line.

With less than 2 weeks to the exhibition we hope to see you all there. Please share this post if you can so we can reach as many people as possible

Thanks to everyone for following us so far,
From everyone at the Trimley Station Regeneration Project.

The game is afoot, Watson! It’s the Case of the Norwood Builder, where Arriva Rail London and have reinstated a facade similar to the historic original, but in GRP, at Norwood Junction. We gave a grant and we were pleased to visit today & see it finished. They’ve also created a waiting room as a homage to Conan Doyle’s case which mentions the station, and have refurbished the toilets in a heritage style. We think Sherlock Holmes would approve.
