Search for the best chauffeur company in your city, and the results page fills with businesses making exactly that claim about themselves. It is one of the most common phrases in the industry, and most of the time, no one outside the company itself decided it.

A genuine industry award works differently. It comes from an organisation that judges companies against each other, in a specific category, over time — not a title a company gives itself.

Look closely at who is actually issuing an award before taking it at face value. Some awards cover broad, well-known global categories. Others are handed out by publications that have tracked and evaluated chauffeur operators specifically, year after year, in categories defined narrowly enough to mean something, such as fleet size or country of operation.

Arrivals halls after a long-haul flight are rarely calm. Dozens of people wait behind barriers, several drivers hold name signs, and everyone is heading the same direction at once. Finding the right person in that crowd comes down to a few details working correctly, not chance.

Every Limotak chauffeur meets you with a printed name sign or a tablet, never a name shown on a phone screen. It is one of the platform's standards, so you know what to look for before you land.

The chat with your chauffeur opens a day before your transfer, and the Ride Information Link for your booking already has their contact details in it. Your chauffeur, on the other hand, cannot message you first — that only opens on their side a few minutes before the scheduled pickup time, so any early questions need to come from you.

The flight number on your booking does the rest of the work. It lets the meeting point and pickup time adjust automatically to your actual arrival, so your chauffeur is exactly where they should be when you walk out, not stuck at an earlier version of the schedule.

If you have booked with Limotak since April, you have likely been earning Limotak Points already. No sign-up, no activation step — points are credited automatically on every eligible completed booking.

The part that is easy to miss: points are not limited to small discounts. Depending on your balance, they can cover part of a future ride or, in some cases, the entire cost of one.

Not every driver who applies to work with Limotak gets accepted, and not every carrier stays on the platform once they do.

Before a carrier is approved to take bookings, we review their vehicle photographs, communication standards, response times and how closely they follow meeting point procedures. We also look at how they handle pressure, follow instructions and manage the small details that shape an actual journey, not just what looks good on paper.

Some carriers do not pass this process, including ones with large fleets, when their day-to-day practices fall short. That means fewer carriers get approved than apply, but it also means the driver waiting for you at the meeting point has already been through this check.

That is the part of the booking you never have to think about.

Your Flight Delay Rights Just Got Confirmed — Your Airport Pickup Still Depends On Something Else

EU261 protects your right to compensation when a flight runs late. Whether someone is actually there to meet you when it does is a separate matter entirely — one that starts with a flight number on your booking.

The European Parliament voted this month to keep the EU261 compensation threshold at 3 hours, rejecting proposals to push it to 5 hours or more. The compensation amounts stay the same too: €250, €400 or €600 depending on distance. These changes are not in effect yet — they still need approval from the Council of the EU and roughly a year of preparation time before airlines apply them, likely from the second half of 2027.

None of this changes what happens the moment you land, though. EU261 covers what the airline owes you for the delay itself. It says nothing about who is waiting for you at arrivals three hours later than planned.

That part depends on whether the person arranging your transfer has your flight number. With a flight number on the booking, the pickup time adjusts automatically to your actual landing time, so a three-hour delay does not turn into a missed chauffeur or an empty meeting point.
Add your flight number when you book an airport transfer, regardless of how the compensation rules eventually change.

A journey in high temperatures runs differently to any other trip, and a few adjustments make the difference between an uncomfortable day and a manageable one.

Carry more water than feels necessary, and drink it before you feel thirsty rather than after. Airports and city centres in summer heat dehydrate faster than most people expect, particularly with luggage in tow.

Choose light, loose clothing over anything tight or dark, since dark fabric holds heat and tight clothing limits airflow against the skin. A hat and sunglasses do more for comfort over a full day than either one alone.

Plan outdoor activities for early morning or early evening, and treat the hottest hours, generally between midday and four in the afternoon, as time for something indoors or shaded.

Check that your accommodation and any transfers are air-conditioned before you travel, particularly for longer journeys between airports, hotels and excursions. A vehicle without working air conditioning turns a short transfer into the least comfortable part of the day.

Keep an eye on how you and anyone travelling with you are actually feeling. Dizziness, headache or unusual fatigue in high heat are signs to stop, find shade and rehydrate rather than push through to the next stop on the itinerary.
