We’ve been busy building JSPC TrackPlan to bring access requests, approvals, staff allocation, possession packs and shift reporting into one clear workflow.

Here’s how it works 👇
1️⃣ SUBMIT THE REQUEST
Your planner submits the worksite details and required shifts.
“Somewhere near the railway, sometime next week” may need a little more detail. We’re good, but the crystal ball is still in for calibration. 🔮

2️⃣ REVIEW and APPROVE
Route or infrastructure planners review the request, check the details and consider potential clashes. Incomplete requests go back for amendment, so the missing information gets dealt with before the plan moves forward.

3️⃣ CONFIRM THE PLAN
The planner is notified of the decision, giving the team a clear outcome to work from and helping everyone understand where the request stands.

4️⃣ ALLOCATE THE STAFF
Teams assign competent staff at T–14 days within the TrackPlan workflow.
A useful opportunity to check whether “I reckon Dave’s free” actually means Dave’s available… or halfway to Tenerife. 🏖️

5️⃣ PUBLISH THE POSSESSION PACK
Route or infrastructure planners publish the possession pack on the Friday before the working week, ready for the teams delivering the work.

6️⃣ REPORT AND IMPROVE
Site teams record what was delivered, any delays and the follow-up actions. That information feeds back into future planning, so lessons from the shift can actually help the next one.

The aim is straightforward: clearer responsibilities, better visibility and fewer loose ends to chase between requesting access and recording what happened on site.

Built around the realities of railway delivery — including the bits that look wonderfully straightforward in a meeting and considerably less straightforward at 02:00 in the rain. 🌧️

🇮🇪 GAN DEIFIR, GAN STRUS.
Without hurry, without stress.

Sounds lovely, doesn't it?

Now try telling that to someone running a business in the rail industry. 😂

Phones ringing, emails piling up, deadlines looming, meetings about meetings, and a to-do list that seems to reproduce overnight.

There's always another possession to plan, another problem to solve, another client to support.

And before you know it, another week has disappeared.

But here's the thing...

We're all so busy trying to build a better future that sometimes we forget to enjoy the life we've already got.

I'm as guilty as anyone.

Running JSPC, working across the UK and Ireland, trying to grow the business and make sure everyone is looked after. It's something I'm incredibly passionate about.

But switching off? That's a different challenge altogether.

And sometimes I need reminding that being busy doesn't necessarily mean we're getting the important things right.

The kids don't care how many contracts you've secured.

Your family doesn't care how many emails you've answered.

And your dog certainly doesn't care whether that possession plan has reached T-minus 6. He's just wondering why you haven't taken him for a walk yet. 🐕😂

They just want your time.

And that's something no amount of money, success or professional recognition can buy back.

I've learned over the years that looking after your mental wellbeing isn't a luxury. It's a necessity.

You can't keep running on empty and expect to have something left for the people who matter most.

So here's a little reminder, as much to myself as anyone else.

Take five.

Put the laptop down.

Go and make some memories.

Have that extra cuddle with the kids.

Take the dog out.

Sit down with your other half and actually have a conversation that doesn't involve work.

Because one day, the projects will be finished, the contracts will end, and someone else will be answering those emails.

But the moments you missed with your family?

You don't get a second possession window for those.

At JSPC, we'll always work hard, support our clients and take pride in delivering what we promise.

But there's more to life than work.

Success isn't just about what you build. It's about who you get to enjoy it with.

🚆 Two new capabilities at JSPC Group. Because apparently we looked at the moving parts in a rail project and thought, “You know what? We can help coordinate a few more.” 👀

We’re pleased to add IOSH PSCS (Project Supervisor Construction Stage) and CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator to our capability set.

They build on the support we already provide across rail projects:

✅ Access planning, including disruptive possessions, emergency access and White Periods
✅ P6 planning and project controls
✅ Possession strategy and delivery support
✅ Project management and on-site coordination
✅ Logistics and resource coordination
✅ Rail staff resourcing

🚆 Four pins on a map. Quite a lot happening behind them.

JSPC Group has live projects in Claremorris, Athenry, Dublin and Cork.

The map makes it look wonderfully simple. In reality, there’s access to secure, programmes to manage, people and plant to coordinate, and a railway that rarely adjusts its timetable because someone’s spreadsheet looked optimistic. 😉

That’s the work we enjoy. From access and possession planning to P6 programmes, project management, resourcing and support on site, our team helps turn a good idea into a plan that can actually be delivered.

Apparently, we’ve been kicked off CACR… 👀

Which came as a bit of a surprise to us, considering we’re still working on it. 😂

So, before the rumour mill gets another shift booked in, we thought we’d clear this one up.

JSPC Group remains active on the CACR project, continuing to work in the background supporting multiple clients and delivering the services we’ve been trusted with.

No dramatic exit.
No cardboard box of belongings.
No security es**rt from Cork.
And sadly, no Netflix documentary. 🎬

Just the considerably less exciting truth:
✅ Still active.
✅ Still supporting our clients.
✅ Still delivering.
✅ Still answering the phone.
✅ Still drinking far too much coffee.

We’ve spent the last three years building relationships in Ireland, learning the network, supporting major disruptive possessions and helping our clients deliver their works safely and efficiently.

And that work continues.

We’re always happy for people to talk about JSPC — free marketing is free marketing, after all. 😉 But if anyone wants to know what we're actually doing, there’s a revolutionary new approach available...

Apparently “we’ve got the job” isn’t actually a delivery strategy…

Who knew? 😂

There’s usually a fair bit that has to happen between winning the work and everyone standing around at 02:00 wondering why the possession isn’t going quite to plan.

That’s where we come in.

At JSPC Group, we can support the whole delivery journey from the first programme through to the final wash-up.

1️⃣ P6 Planning
We build the programme, sequence the work, identify the critical path and try to work out where it’s all likely to go sideways before it actually does.

Because “we’ll sort it on the night” is surprisingly absent from Primavera P6.

2️⃣ Access Planning
White Period access, disruptive possessions, Rules of Route, worksite limits, access points, resource requirements, deconfliction and the Irish T-minus process.

You can have the best programme in Ireland.

If you haven’t got access to the railway, congratulations…

You’ve created a very expensive PowerPoint. 👏

3️⃣ Buried Services Co-ordination
Service provider liaison, permits to dig, stakeholder attendance and making sure the correct control measures are in place.

Basically, stopping an excavator from unexpectedly introducing itself to something expensive underground.

Always preferable. 😂

4️⃣ PSCS Management & Site Supervision
Managing PSCS site supervisors, coordinating clients and subcontractors, signing off the right paperwork and keeping delivery safe, compliant and moving.

Less standing around asking:

“Who’s actually responsible for this?”

More getting the bloody job delivered.

5️⃣ Data Collection & Shift Reporting
What did we achieve?

How much?

What went wrong?

How much time did we lose?

And, most importantly…

Can we prove any of it?

Shift reports, quantities, photographs, delays, lost hours and site records captured properly — rather than piecing the story together three weeks later from blurry WhatsApp photos and somebody saying:

“I’m pretty sure we finished that.”

YOU ARE NOT ALONE. This one is personal. 💜🧡

Over six years ago, I was hospitalised after struggling with my mental health. I had kept what I was going through to myself.

That is part of my story. I’m sharing it because someone reading this might be keeping their own struggles hidden, unsure how to tell anyone that things aren’t alright.

Behind the job title, the hi-vis and the project updates, I’m a person, just like everyone else.

A hard hat doesn’t make any of us invincible. And needing help doesn’t make us weak.

The figures in our industry underline why this matters.

Research by Glasgow Caledonian University and the Lighthouse Charity identified 507 su***de deaths among construction occupations in England and Wales in 2021 — almost 10 every week.

And in CIOB’s 2025 research, more than one in four construction workers surveyed reported experiencing suicidal thoughts in the previous year.

These aren’t just numbers in a report. They’re people. Our colleagues, our mates, our families.

In rail and construction, we talk about getting everyone home safely. For me, that must include looking after the person underneath the hard hat—not just protecting them from the risks around them.

Whether you’re on the tools, managing a project or running a business, you deserve the same care and support you would want for your mates.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day, but I want this conversation to matter on every site, every shift and every day—not just today.

There is help out there. Speak to someone you trust, contact your GP or reach out to a support service. You don’t need a perfectly rehearsed explanation. “I’m struggling and I need some help” is a place to start.

And when someone opens up to you, make time to listen without judgement. You don’t need to have all the answers.

👋 GOODBYE CACR… YOU’VE BEEN ONE HELL OF A RIDE.

Three years.

More than 10,000 hours of railway access booked.

Countless meetings, reviews, possessions, late-night calls and the occasional “how the hell are we going to make this work?” moment.

CACR opened doors for JSPC Group that we never imagined possible. It gave us the opportunity to properly learn how the railway works in Ireland — not from a handbook, but from being right in the middle of it.

It’s been fun.
It’s been tough.
And, if we’re being completely honest, it’s been damn emotional at times.

But what a chapter it has been.

Now it’s time to close the CACR folder, take a breath… and move on to the next adventure.

And what’s next? 👀

We currently have three major projects in the pipeline.

We could tell you what they are… but apparently “commercially sensitive” means we’re not allowed to ruin the surprise on LinkedIn. 🤐

The next project will be revealed very soon.
