On Friday, 21st August, we at Community Transport Waltham Forest officially launched the Get Up and Go Services at the beautiful Valentines Mansion in Ilford.

We invited various Get Up and Go members from across Waltham Forest and Newham to join us for an afternoon of song, dance, activities, and socialization. We are thrilled to hear so many words of joy and satisfaction from attendees.

We would like to thank everyone who helped out and those who came and provided their services to an exceptional standard.

We hope the launch event was a memorable end to the summer and look forward to hosting more events in the future, with even more Get Up and Go users, more activities, and more memories to share with friends.

It's full steam ahead here at Community Transport, as preparation and last minute checks are underway and going well as we inch closer to the Get Up and Go launch event; services we have created for the older and vulnerable residents of Waltham Forest and Newham.

We only have 2 more days until the big day, so it's all hands on deck!

Our Walthamstow Excursion Club members enjoyed a wonderful visit to Leeds Castle, with lovely weather from pickup to return.

Our next trip to Leeds Castle is scheduled for this Friday for Leyton and Leytonstone users.

Our Walthamstow residents had a laid-back day out at Kingston Upon Thames Last Friday.

Waltham Forest's last excursion for the Spring Season is Next Friday, with Leyton and Leytonstone's excursion to Kingston.

Kingston Upon Thames daytrips mark the end of our Spring Excursions for this year, with our Chingford date being our busiest Excursion since 2021. We hope everyone had a lovely day. ☀️🌷

We have a new and exciting opportunity for someone who may be starting their career and wants to get their foot in the door of Community-based work.

Our Get up and Go Services supports older adults (60+) and people with disabilities across Waltham Forest and Newham, helping them stay active, independent, and socially connected through accessible transport, social activities, and organised outings.

A successful candidate will be able to deliver outreach and engagement activities across local communities, act as a key link between the organisation and service users, support general project administration and coordination tasks , organise and support events, workshops, and community meetings and represent the organisation at community events and outreach activities.
