In an authentic hadith recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari (1325), the Prophet ﷺ explained that whoever offers the Janazah prayer receives one Qirat of reward.

And whoever remains until the burial is completed receives two Qirats.

And when the Companions asked what a Qirat was, the Prophet ﷺ explained that each Qirat is comparable in size to Mount Uhud.

The next time you’re in the Haram, consider giving yourself those extra few minutes.

A little patience could bring a reward beyond what we can imagine.

May Allah allow us to recognise these opportunities and never miss out on the good He has placed before us. Ameen.

While in Makkah and Madinah, we sometimes leave straight after Salah to avoid the crowds, missing the Janazah prayer that often follows.

But just a little patience could grant us a massive reward.

The best deed in Islam is belief in Allah and Jihad (striving) in His cause.

But who is Jihad for?
And will the ones unable of Jihad miss out on this high reward?

In Sahih al-Bukhari (2784), Aisha (RA) asked:

“O Allah’s Apostle! We consider Jihad as the best deed. Should we not fight in
Allah’s Cause?”

The Prophet (ﷺ) replied:
“No, the best Jihad (for women) is Hajj Mabrur.”
(Hajj which is done
according to the Prophet’s tradition and is accepted by Allah).

And in another narration (Sunan an-Nasa’i 2626), he (ﷺ) explained:
“The Jihad of the elderly, the young, the weak, and the women is Hajj and ‘Umrah.” 
Why this changes everything:

This is the Fairness of our deen. Islam never leaves anyone behind from achieving the highes ranks.

May Allah write a Hajj Mabrur for us and all our loved ones. 🤲

When you’re in Makkah, it is easy to get influenced by what everyone around you is doing.

Someone touches the Ka’bah, so you reach for it too.

Someone recites a particular dua, so you repeat it.

Someone pushes towards the Black Stone, and suddenly you feel that you should do the same.

But Umrah is too important to be learned from the crowd.

We spend months arranging flights, hotels, transport and timings.

Yet the most important part of the journey can sometimes be left to chance: knowing how we are actually meant to worship.

The Sunnah does not make your Umrah less personal. It gives your worship a foundation, and know when an action is actually part of the ritual.

This is why knowledge matters.

Before you travel, learn what the Prophet ﷺ did, what he said, and what he did not prescribe.

Then when you finally stand before the Ka’bah, you are not simply following the person beside you.

You know why you are there, what you are doing, and Who you are worshipping.

There are certain voices that become inseparable from our memories of the Qur’an.

For many, Sheikh Yasser Al-Dosary is one of them.

His distinctive recitation carries a style that is immediately recognisable yet difficult to imitate.

He first led prayers in the Haram in 2015, and was later appointed as a permanent Imam in 2019.

Years later, that same voice continues to echo through the sacred mosque.

And now, hearing the tone of his famous 2004 recitation return brings back a sound from an earlier chapter of his journey.

When you stand before the Chamber of the Prophet ﷺ, how should you give Salam?

Here, before anything you must lower your voice.

As you stand before the resting place of the Prophet ﷺ, you will see an ayah written above you:

“O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak loudly to him as you speak loudly to one another, or your deeds will become void while you are unaware.”
(Surah al-Hujurat 49:2)

The warning in this ayah is severe, and standing there is a moment to remember the honour of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the respect he deserves.

Give Salam to the Prophet ﷺ :

Stand respectfully facing the Chamber and say,

“As-salamu alayka ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.”
(Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.)

Give Salam to Abu Bakr and Umar :

Then move slightly to the right and say,

“As-salamu alayka ya Abu Bakr.”
“As-salamu alayka ya Umar.”

May Allah be pleased with them both.

Reminder: Do not touch or kiss the barriers.

Kissing the barriers, rubbing against them or wiping clothing on them in search of barakah has no basis in the Sunnah.

The love we have for the Prophet ﷺ should lead us to follow his teachings, not introduce acts that he did not teach.

And after giving your Salam, do not linger or block the path.

Let others have their moment too.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Send blessings upon me, for your blessings will reach me wherever you are.” (Sunan Abi Dawud)

May Allah SWT grant us the honour of visiting Madinah.

And when we stand before the resting place of His beloved Messenger ﷺ, may He grant us the adab, humility and reverence that such a moment deserves.

There are some things we MUST be careful to avoid while visiting the Rawdah and the Prophet’s ﷺ chamber.

1. Raising your voice

Allah SWT says:

“O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak loudly to him as you speak loudly to one another, or your deeds will become void while you are unaware.”

— Surah al-Hujurat 49:2

The warning is severe.

So, loud conversations, laughing excessively or creating unnecessary noise around the Prophet ﷺ is not befitting of the place.

2. Pushing, shoving or harming others

Imagine standing before the House of the Prophet ﷺ, surrounded by your brothers and sisters in Islam, and still allowing yourself to push, shove, argue or harm another Muslim just to reach the Rawdah.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us mercy, patience and good character.

3. Directing dua to the Prophet ﷺ

This is where we must remember the foundation of our faith: Tawhid.

Dua is an act of worship, and worship belongs to Allah SWT alone.

We come to the Prophet ﷺ with love, send Salawat upon him and give him Salam.

But when we ask for forgiveness, relief, provision, healing or the fulfilment of our needs, we ask Allah SWT alone.

This is not simply a matter of etiquette. It is part of what the Prophet ﷺ himself taught us about worshipping Allah SWT without associating anything with Him.

4. Touching or seeking blessings from the barriers

Kissing the barriers, rubbing against them or wiping clothing on them in search of barakah has no basis in the Sunnah.

The love we have for the Prophet ﷺ should lead us to follow his teachings, not introduce acts that he did not teach.

May Allah SWT grant us the honour of visiting Madinah.

And when we stand before the resting place of His beloved Messenger ﷺ, may He grant us the humility, reverence and adab that such a moment deserves.
