🎹 Upright piano safely moved to the second floor by our two-man team!

Not every staircase move requires three or four movers. Depending on the piano’s size and weight, as well as the staircase, turns, landings and available space, an experienced two-man team can sometimes complete the move safely.

For this job, the piano was carefully positioned on specialist equipment and manoeuvred through the communal staircase to the second floor. The floors and stairs were fully protected throughout the move.

Why do we provide an arrival time window instead of an exact time?

Piano moves can take very different amounts of time. An upright, baby grand or grand piano requires different preparation, equipment and handling. Stairs, floor level, narrow access, lifts, difficult turns and the weight of the piano can also affect how long each job takes.

London traffic, road closures and parking availability can cause further delays that cannot always be predicted accurately.

For these reasons, we normally provide an arrival time window. Our team will call before arrival, so you are kept updated throughout the day.

If you require a guaranteed exact arrival time, a timed priority booking may be available for an additional charge, depending on the date and location.

Before every move, we assess doorways, hallways, turns, landings, handrails, ceiling height and access to determine whether the piano can be moved safely.

Photos, videos and measurements are extremely helpful, but some difficult moves can only be fully assessed when our specialist team arrives and carefully attempts the move.

If we advise that the piano may not fit but you would still like our team to attend and try, a non-refundable deposit will be required.

The number of specialist piano movers we send depends on several important factors:
