"if you build it they will come".......With 2 warehouses and over 700 pallet spaces of predominantly IT equipment we took the decision early on this year to build our own pre staging area within our Farnborough warehouse. With many clients storing their equipment with us it made perfect sense to build our own caged area with a couple of 42u racks, 16amp monitored and metered power feeds to each rack so as they could pre stage their projects. These projects sometimes involve hundreds of switches and other kit. I will let you think about the benefits of being able to do this within the same location as the ones that manage the inventory.

Some unpacked medical equipment collected from Scotland for one of our Japenese clients. Sods law we have had 2 packing crates in the warehouse for these specific devices for over a year and 2 weeks ago I told our warehouseman to recycle them 🙄. Not a major problem as our datacentre flight cases cross over to many of our other industries. We have a stock of over 30 cases of different shapes and sizes meaning that most devices can be transported safe and securely without any special packing. Solutions not problems!

Sad end to the week as we lost a valued member of our Team. Our beloved Roo (bear) went to sleep. She was found dumped in a park 9 years ago and handed in to the vets where my daughter worked. She weighed about 10kg with the mange and in a very sorry state. I never wanted a dog but when the wife and daughter schemed at taking her on, this moth bitten furless thing turned up, and she soon became my best mate. She didn't have a bad bone in her body and I know it is one of those cliches, but everyone who came across her, loved her, for her beautiful nature.

In those subsequent years her CV included 'practice dog' at Medivet where she would sit on her bed in reception and not bat an eyelid at all the customers with their various pets that came in, yet at times it felt she gave comfort to the sick animals that came through the door putting them at ease even though some didn't come back out! She loved all animals and never chased a cat, squirrel or bird.

When she joined Secure Transportation on a part time basis her first role was my "van mate", often accompanying me around the country. She eventually became a full time employee and a firm favourite of all the team, loving the attention and constant cuddles and strokes. It was great having her around the office, a calming influence in a sometimes chaotic environment.

Roo was ST through and through, even standing by our front door on the weekend waiting to get in the car to go to work! She had a good innings as they say. She just managed to get to our new home last week and enjoyed the long garden and a few short walks in the woods.

Many of our customers knew Roo personaly, some even bringing their own dogs in to see her. So if you see an empty space in the office when you next pay us a visit, you know why.

If you have got to the end of my ramblings feel free to post some pics of your own dogs past and present to bring a little happiness to a sad end to the week for us all.
