🎨 What an inspiring evening at the Frida Kahlo exhibition at Tate Modern.

I knew some of her famous self-portraits, but I knew very little about the remarkable woman behind them.

It was fascinating to learn about her life, her resilience, and how she used art to express her identity, emotions and beliefs with such honesty. At a time when women were expected to stay within society’s narrow expectations, Frida chose to live boldly and authentically. She explored themes of identity, strength, womanhood and self-expression with a courage that was far ahead of her time.

What surprised me most was learning that she became a global icon more than 20 years after her death in 1954. Sometimes the true impact of a person’s life isn’t fully recognised until years later.

I left feeling inspired by her reminder that we all have our own voice, and that being true to ourselves can leave a legacy far beyond our own lifetime.

Have you visited the exhibition? I’d love to hear what resonated with you. ❤️

Sometimes the best museums in London are the ones visitors almost miss.

The Royal Academy of Arts is one of my favourites, with its stunning permanent collection and the famous Summer Exhibition, where hundreds of contemporary works fill every gallery. It’s a wonderful place to slow down and soak up some creativity.

If you’re looking beyond the British Museum and other famous attractions, I’ve also shared some of London’s most unusual museums in my latest blog.Read more 👉 https://londonadventures.co.uk/hidden-museums-london/

🌳 Hidden Gem Friday: Postman’s Park

Tucked away near St Paul’s Cathedral is one of London’s most touching hidden gems.

Postman’s Park is home to the Memorial to Heroic Self-Sacrifice, which honours ordinary people who lost their lives while saving others. The stories on the beautiful ceramic plaques are both inspiring and heartbreaking.

It’s a peaceful spot to escape the busy City and discover a different side of London’s history.

Have you visited Postman’s Park?

🎭 A Touch of India in South Kensington

One of my favourite moments at the Great Exhibition Road Festival this weekend was watching the beautiful Indian puppet procession weave its way through the crowds.

The giant puppets, colourful costumes, music, and storytelling brought so much life and energy to Exhibition Road. It felt like a celebration of culture, creativity, and community all in one place. ✨

The festival itself is a fantastic free event, with science, art, sustainability, food, and hands-on experiences for all ages. But for me, these magnificent puppets were the stars of the show.

London never stops surprising me. 🇬🇧❤️

Have you ever discovered something completely unexpected at a London festival?
