Last week, SLC's Caleb attended London Wine Fair on behalf of Virginia Tourism Corporation to meet partners from the state's best wineries and vineyards.

He spoke with Virginia Wines about what makes the state an exceptional wine-growing region, and why Virginian wines - still relatively rare in the UK - are such an exciting discovery for adventurous, trend-conscious wine lovers. And that’s a wrap on ATE 2026!

Matt and James from SLC’s UK team joined Elodie from our French team at this year's Australian Tourism Exchange in Adelaide to represent a number of clients across the UK, French, Dutch and Scandinavian markets, including G’Day Group and Tourism Western Australia.

With strong attendance from buyers across Europe, the week was filled with packed appointment schedules, pre and post-ATE fam trips, drinks events and VIP dinners. It was encouraging to hear positive industry sentiment throughout the event, with strong forward bookings and optimism for a busy end to the year.

ATE also provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with clients including Taronga Conservation Society Australia and Tangalooma Island Resort ahead of further in-market activity across the UK and Europe later this year.

Last month, SLC took our client Tourism Western Australia on the road for Australia on Tour UK and Northern Europe 2026, with stops in Bristol, Birmingham, Newcastle and Edinburgh, as well as Ghent, Amsterdam, Gothenburg and Aarhus.

Across multiple events, the team connected with 240 travel agents from the KDP network, showcasing what sets Western Australia apart. Through engaging presentations and speed networking sessions, agents gained valuable insights into the dream state, with the ‘Best of Australia’ theme bringing together iconic experiences and exciting new product.

The tour also provided valuable time to strengthen relationships with frontline sellers, with each evening concluding with the chance to win trips to both Australia’s East and West Coasts.

We’re pleased to welcome Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, to the SLC Australia portfolio, alongside our continued partnerships with Ehime and Oita.

This expansion strengthens our presence across the region, enabling a more integrated approach to trade engagement, product development, and long-term growth. Over the past year, we’ve built strong foundations with Ehime and Oita, working closely with Australian trade partners to drive awareness, develop new itineraries, and create opportunities for conversion.

Wrapping up an exciting and impactful Q1 supporting the G’Day Group!

It’s been a strong start to the year for SLC Representation as we delivered a range of targeted trade and consumer initiatives across the UK market for our client G'day Group.

Over the past few months, Matt and Katrina have:

• Delivered engaging training sessions to boost knowledge for 140 agents across TravelTalks Australasia Showcases in London, Manchester & Edinburgh and the Travel Gossip Roadshow in Warwick
• Met with 45 Product Managers at Unite in London and the Northern Territory – Australia x Visit Victoria Tradeshow in Windsor to build on long-term partnerships and plan 2026 marketing and collaboration opportunities
• Celebrated the launch of our new 2026-27 booking season with 10 decision makers at the G'Day Group Season Launch Lunch in London

Each touchpoint has been focused on showcasing the unique experiences and offerings of the G’Day Group, while reinforcing its position within the market.

Our SLC Australia team attended JNTO’s Sydney and Brisbane Roadshows earlier this year, introducing Japan's Oita and Ehime regions to valuable new partners and sharing experiences that sit beyond the usual Japan itineraries.

The events provided valuable opportunities to connect with the industry and continue the conversations we’ve been building over time. It was particularly encouraging to see how the conversation is evolving - from “Where is Kyushu?” to “We’ve had clients in Beppu, and they loved it.” That kind of shift doesn’t happen overnight, and it’s exciting to see regional Japan gaining real momentum.

SLC Representation's Australia team joined the Japan National Tourism Organization earlier this month at their Sydney and Brisbane travel trade roadshows.

The events provided a valuable opportunity to connect with Australian travel trade partners and highlight the experiences on offer in Oita and Ehime Prefectures, encouraging itineraries that explore beyond Japan’s traditional gateways.

It was particularly encouraging to see how the conversation is evolving - from “Where is Kyushu?” to agents sharing positive feedback from clients who have already travelled to places like Beppu. This growing familiarity with regional Japan reflects the continued momentum behind destinations beyond the Golden Route.
