One of the most breathtaking stops around Phuket: Ao Pi Leh.

Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and filled with crystal-clear turquoise water, this beautiful lagoon feels like something from a postcard. Whether you’re taking in the scenery from the boat, swimming in the calm waters or simply enjoying the moment, it’s easy to see why this place is so unforgettable.

Would you add this to your Thailand bucket list?

Monkey Bay in the Phi Phi Islands is undeniably beautiful, with dramatic cliffs, clear blue water and monkeys along the shoreline.

But I have to be honest - seeing so many boats gathered closely together to watch them left me feeling uncomfortable. I couldn’t help wondering whether the monkeys felt stressed or disturbed by the constant attention.

I’m not saying this to criticise anyone. It simply made me think about how wildlife tourism can affect the animals we travel to see. Beautiful places are even better when they are enjoyed responsibly and with plenty of space for the wildlife.

What do you think? Did this look like a memorable wildlife experience, or did the number of boats feel too much?

There are some places that look beautiful on camera… and then there are places that leave you completely speechless in person.

Snorkelling through the clear blue waters of Phi Phi National Park, surrounded by dramatic green mountains and peaceful tropical scenery, felt like stepping into another world. Every direction brought another beautiful view, and beneath the surface was a whole other adventure waiting to be explored.

Thailand, you really are showing off.

Mai Phai Island, also known as Bamboo Island or Bamboo Beach to many travellers— is pure tropical paradise. Crystal-clear shallow waters, soft white sand, and the perfect setting for a refreshing swim and a little snorkelling.

My kids are somewhere down there, probably hanging off a tree, while I’m up here enjoying the view.

While they were zip-lining and quad biking through the trees, I found a peaceful moment overlooking the valley and beautiful Karon Beach in the distance.

Family travel is all about balance: they get the adventure, I get the view—and thankfully, everyone is having a brilliant time.

A few unforgettable hours at an elephant café sanctuary in Phuket.

We spent time feeding the elephants, getting close to them, and enjoying a unique experience surrounded by nature. Depending on the experience you choose, you may also have the opportunity to help wash and care for these gentle giants.

It was such a special way to spend part of our day in Phuket—peaceful, hands-on, and completely different from a typical sightseeing trip.

If you’d love to experience it for yourself, I’ve added a link where you can view the details and book your tickets.

A little pause from the Phuket heat, because sometimes sightseeing should involve iced coffee, air-con and a cat asleep beside you.

Tucked into Phuket Old Town, this cat café is the kind of stop you accidentally spend far longer in than planned. One minute you’re popping in for a drink, the next you’re quietly negotiating with yourself about whether a cat could fit in your hand luggage.

Phuket Old Town is full of colourful buildings, little independent spots and unexpected finds like this. Add it to the “just one quick stop” part of your itinerary.

Would you visit for the coffee, the cats, or both?

Chianga Mai comes alive after dark, with a night market to explore somewhere in the city almost every evening. From handmade finds and street food to live entertainment and Thai boxing, every market has its own vibe.

If you are planning a visit, here are three to add to your itinerary:

Chiang Mai night markets to know

Wua Lai Walking Street — Saturday evenings
Just south of the Old Town, this market is smaller and more relaxed than the Sunday market. A lovely option for browsing local crafts, silverware, souvenirs and street-food snacks without quite as much of the crowd.

Ratchadamnoen Road Sunday Market — Sunday, 5pm–10pm
This is the market shown in my video, and one of Chiang Mai’s most popular nights out. It begins at Tha Phae Gate, runs through the heart of the Old Town along Ratchadamnoen Road, and finishes near Wat Phra Singh. Expect food stalls, handmade gifts, art, clothing, musicians and plenty of people. Go earlier if you want space to browse before the crowds build.

Chiang Mai Night Bazaar — every evening
A great option if you are not in Chiang Mai over the weekend. It is generally easier to walk around, with shopping stalls, an indoor food area, live entertainment and Thai boxing nearby. Perfect for a relaxed evening of food, shopping and people-watching.

Save this for your Chiang Mai trip.
