The Reid Team have been busy moving this 4m x 4m 12 ton CNC machine and it's ancillaries for our customer REAPBIKES.COM "Carbon fibre Everything".
This give us an opportunity to get the jack and skates out and the knee pads!!. Manoeuvring the two machines and tables out of a low height unit, then to strip the internal covers out to allow the lifting equipment to line up. Due to restrictions outside, it meant the crane was going to have to do the hard work this time. The side of the machine was then removed to enable access to the delivery point and lifted into its final position. Another job well done by the team.

A Local move for a customer in need, included a Heavy 40 ft container, a tight entrance on an embankment and a soft field and 2 x Heavy Hiabs, 1 been a 6x4 for abit of much needed added traction! Some Dual lift shuffling, abit of self recovery out of the soft stuff and few cups of tea later the job was done, well done team!

DAF of the Month. 🏆

February’s winner is the impressive DAF XG driven by Joel Mendez of Reid Freight Services.

Captured on a wet winter run earlier this month, Joel’s XG and waferdeck trailer were hard at work transporting 4 metre tall locomotive jacks from York to Derby. It was a tough job in tough weather and a standout entry for February.

Some official DAF merchandise will be heading Joe’s way, and his winning XG will take pride of place in our profile header throughout February. 👏

Here is a throw back to the early days, Simon was 6 months into driving class 1, and we were lucky enough to meet Rod from engineering services ltd, who helped us to get going in this great industry.

The rest is history, this is when trucks were proper, beautiful volvo F16 as called the H reg with fuller gearbox, no fancy stuff like todays trucks.

Trailer didnt have rear steer so it was all about driving skill then, just shows how far things have moved on in the industry.
