We went on a beautiful and short walk in the Peaks - it was too good not to share!

The Lantern Pike walk was a pleasant surprise. It is 373m and the name Lantern Pike probably comes from the hill's use as a beacon.

The walk was only 8km and took around 2.5 hours with some stops! Views were lovely and the heather is out! How great is the Peak District in heather season?

After visiting the Dark Hedges, I decided to research online to see what others thought of this magnificent landmark. To my surprise, I came across several less than favourable reviews. Some complained about the crowds, while others felt the trees could have been more impressive.

However, I disagree entirely. My own experience at the Dark Hedges was nothing short of magical. The trees were absolutely stunning, and the atmosphere was simply enchanting.
