A word of warning when choosing a removal service

After ten years in the removals industry, I feel it’s time to speak up for the skilled work that goes into moving people’s homes safely.

We advertise on Facebook too, so there’s nothing wrong with asking for recommendations there. Just make sure you ask the right questions before booking.

If someone says they’re “fully insured,” ask them to explain what that means for your move. Does their cover apply to the specific work you’re booking? What happens if your belongings are damaged or something in your home is accidentally damaged? Ask for the details in writing.

Think about the vehicle as well. Would you be happy for your mattress, sofa or bed to go in a van that may have carried garden waste or been used for tip runs? Ask whether the van is clean and properly equipped for household removals.

Before you agree, ask for a written quote, terms and conditions, and a clear explanation of what’s included. Good equipment, suitable vehicles, trained people, insurance and careful planning all cost money. Removals are skilled work, and a very low price may mean a different level of service.

At Move It With Mee, we’re proud of the care and experience we’ve built over ten years. Please compare more than just the price, and ask every provider how they’ll protect your belongings and your home.

Choose carefully. Ask questions. Get the details in writing.
