Finished a flat clearance yesterday. One of the more physically demanding jobs we've had recently, with a long carry down to the van due to the layout of the apartment building. But we got it done in a day, and this is how it was left.
People often assume the beds, wardrobes and sofas are what make a clearance take time. And yes, they're heavy, but experienced hands move big furniture quickly. The real time goes into everything else.
Every drawer. Every shelf. Every airing cupboard. Boxes and bags of accumulated life... some of it rubbish, some of it sentimental, some of it genuinely valuable, and occasionally something hazardous that can't go in with the general waste. You can't just scoop it all into a skip. You have to go through it properly.
That's what Hunt 'n' Haul does.
On this job, every item was sorted before it left the property. Clothes and shoes donated to charity, all other textiles recycled as industrial cleaning rags, some quality furniture pieces being resold on the client's behalf (anything that doesn't sell gets donated), and everything else recycled, with as close to zero to landfill as is humanly possible.
It's not glamorous work. But it matters to the people who need the space cleared and to the stuff that deserves better than a landfill.
If you've got a house, garage or loft that needs clearing in Huntingdon or the wider Cambridgeshire area, give us a shout. No job too big, no drawer too chaotic.
