π«π° | LIBERATION DAY
Today, we commemorate the liberation of the Falkland Islands and pay tribute to the courage, sacrifice and resilience shown during 1982.
Liberation Day marks the end of the Argentine occupation of the Falkland Islands, 44 years ago. Each year, members of the community gather at Christchurch Cathedral for a thanksgiving service, followed by wreath laying at the Liberation Monument and a military parade.
As the Islands pause to reflect, we remember those who fought, those who lost their lives. We will remember them.
