Henshaw's Executive Travel are looking for a fleet engineer to service and maintain our fleet of new and nearly new coaches here in the Cotswolds. Working from our modern indoor facilities the successful candidate will have substantial knowledge in all aspects of coach / HGV maintenance.
Candidate requirements -
Experience in all aspects of PCV (preferable) or HGV maintenance with relevant qualifications to include undertaking safety inspections, diagnosis of faults, general repair, and completing maintenance paperwork both accurately and in a timely fashion. Where tasks cannot be completed in-house, communicate with outside suppliers, dealers, manufacturers and warranty contacts to return vehicles to service promptly. Liaise with the traffic office staff to ensure that all safety and compliance targets are met whilst aiming to optimise vehicle availability.
Mentoring the existing apprentice. Although just starting out on his own journey, he is keen to learn and works hard.
Occasional out of hours callouts when vehicle issues arise. The fleet is very modern so thankfully these tend to be rare.
PCV (Category D) driving licence is preferred, although training could be provided to the right applicant.
Satisfactory completion of an enhanced DBS check.
What we offer-
Starting rate £21 per hour.
Minimum 45 hours per week, paid weekly.
Company pension scheme
Paid overtime.
Normal hours 06:30 - 17:30 Mon - Fri, although this could be negotiable to get the right person.
It is worthy of note that this is not a highly pressured position in relation to similar roles within the industry. Although there is a steady stream of work and scheduled maintenance does need to be completed both fully and on time, we aim to maintain a light - moderate pace of work so as to not overload the engineering team. With this in mind the role could be suitable for any engineer with relevant experience and at any age or stage in their career.
