A useful travel tip that many people are still unaware of...

If you or a loved one has a hidden disability, it's important to know that Spanish airports no longer officially recognise the UK Sunflower Lanyard for airport assistance services.

Aena (Spain’s airport authority) now operates its own FREE Invisible Disabilities Badge scheme, designed to help passengers access support more easily while travelling.

The badge can help with:
💙 Discreet identification for airport staff
💙 Additional support through security screening
💙 Access to family and PRM assistance lanes where available
💙 Coverage for one family or travel group under a single badge

🛫 Available at many major Spanish airports, including:
Alicante, Barcelona, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife South and more.

How to apply:

✔️ Complete the online application at least 48 hours before departure
✔️ Enter your passenger and flight details
✔️ Receive your badge by email
✔️ Save it to your phone or print a copy to take with you

As someone who helps travellers every day, I wanted to share this update because many people understandably assume the Sunflower Lanyard is recognised everywhere. In Spain, the process is different, and knowing this in advance could make your airport experience much smoother.
