We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Marketing Assistant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for the railway industry who enjoys combining technical knowledge with creative marketing.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, you will support the planning, creation and delivery of marketing content across digital and print channels as well as assist in preparation of locomotive and rolling stock datasheets and the management of the company’s web site.

This role would suit someone who is both technically minded and creatively driven, with an interest in modern marketing tools, including AI-assisted workflows.

This week, the ROMIC Team has been busy progressing another exciting export project - this time from Auckland, New Zealand.

DFT locomotives 7104 and 7226 have now been successfully transported to the Port of Auckland, where they await loading before commencing the next stage of their journey.

Having been in development for approximately nine months, it is fantastic to see this project reaching a major milestone and gathering momentum. We look forward to sharing further updates as the locomotives make their way to their new home.

Class 20 locomotive 20205 leads Southeastern Networker 465169, with 20007 on the rear, through Lee Station. The Networker is being transferred for reactivation, operating as train 7Y65 from Dollands Moor to Slade Green Depot.

Today marks the final day of training and testing in Ghana with their Class 56 locomotives and container wagon fleet, the first standard gauge freight locomotives ever to operate in Ghana!

It has been a privilege to work alongside our client on this landmark project, and we are proud to have supported the successful introduction of this new fleet. We look forward to continuing our partnership and providing ongoing support as operations move forward.

Our objective is to ensure that the new operator develops the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to operate and maintain their locomotive and wagon fleet safely, efficiently, and competently. Through hands-on training and practical instruction, we are supporting the development of a strong safety culture and operational excellence across the fleet.

ROMIC is looking for Ex Forces personnel who understand how locomotive and freight wagons operate, willing to travel overseas to perform training on electrical mechanical and pneumatics, perform training to local personnel on maintenance and driver practice.

But must be able to solve problems and establish good relationships with everyone on the ground and in the head office.
