This week we have had the opportunity to support EYFS and Reception children Langton Primary School with balance bike taster sessions. It was such a fun day for everyone involved and by the end of the sessions every single child could glide without any support.

We will be working very closely next week with two more schools, supporting them to encourage independent travel skills aimed at KS2 prior to their transition to secondary school. We talk about how to stay safe, how important it is to become independent as a life skill and the way we can use Active Travel safely.

We are really looking forward to meeting all the children, families and staff.

Junior Road Safety Officers and their teams are a huge help to the local area, communities and their schools. They help promote road safety issues within the school and local community.
We hugely value the work of JRSO’s and because of this we have started to provide a support programme for them- giving them ideas, resources and any support they need to carry out their important work.
If your school has JSRO’s and you would like support from Open North Yorkshire please email us on:
