An organisation formed in 1933 that considers transport matters of general interest and promotes discussions and engagement between those involved in transport of all modes.
The club was formed when transport problems were assuming greater importance than ever before. There became a need for some common ground on which responsible managers could meet, irrespective of the forms of transport in which they engaged.
Mr Charles Watling became the first President with Mr HG Bloxham as his deputy. The club started with 31 members and soon grew to 65 by the end of the first year.
Over many years the club has provided an opportunity for those engaged in the transport sector to discuss and debate issues and influence local transport policy. At its peak the club at 120 members. The club has also raised £1,000’s for local charities.
