We are a small family owned and run boatyard on the Norfolk Broads. We have Holiday Cruisers, Houseboats, Sailing Boats, Motor Day Boats, Canoes and Rowing Boats.

A little bit of a grass cutting morning in between showers and then it came to an end with more than a shower 🙈 so we retreated indoors, caught up on jobs lists, mooring requests etc and then managed to get a break in the weather and launch the hawk ready for her owner coming tomorrow. Then in typical British fashion we had hail in June!! 🙄

The Shetland went back in this morning before the wind and rain came! A little bit of paint on the trailer modification from yesterday. I’ll add some footage of the people sailing this afternoon, it was a little lively out there!
So easy to get caught out, they sailed across the broad this morning and it was lovely - wind picked up - 3 reefs and hold on!

Well we didn’t get the full day of rain like the forecast was telling us 🙈 but the show went on indoors as planned , 2 coats of antifoul on the Shetland - had a bit of modifying to do on a trailer for the customer of the sailing boat we worked on last week.

Happy Monday 🎉 forgot to post on friday! 🙈 but we lifted out a little maxima 485 for a top end service - got the boat safety done for the customer too.
Today the little sailing dinghy went back in after its little job list was completed and everything was dry. no more leaks, new shrouds went on too. Lifted and washed a Shetland ready to antifoul tomorrow. We needed to plan right to escape the rain forecast for tomorrow so we can be indoors!

Today we started the little list of jobs for this small sailing boat while she awaits new shrouds - there was a small leak which was only obvious with weight in the boat. Once the boat was out, filled her with a bit of water and tipped the boat backwards, out it came 😂 - not enough screw material left to hold the b**g in and make a seal to the hull.
She also needed a new pin clenching in for the centre plate handle, removed centre plate pivot bolt to check wear and then re-sealed. Few other little bits, touched up some paint, a little bit of an epoxy repair too.

Hope everyone enjoyed a beautiful bank holiday weekend! We were off yesterday- other commitments and extreme heat meant it wouldn’t have been much of a productive day 😂 back today launching a lovely Thurne class boat - some grass cutting and strimming, trailer moving for all of our customers who store them, a bit of a bigger version of Tetris trying to fit them all in neatly with all different shapes and sizes 😅

Nothing photo worthy today! Digging trailers out of the evil brambles, moving the dry stored boats around to make best use of space and get ready for a lot of landscaping after the winter 🙈 if you listen carefully on the video posted, you can hear the cuckoo letting everyone know they have vocal chords 😅

Managed to put the boat back in the water as it wasn’t as windy today! Motor tested and working beautifully- happy owner...

A bit of electrical stuff this afternoon and shopping for parts.
A lot of wildlife at the yard today, even had a cat sat outside the office! but couldn’t get a photo before she ran away 🐈
