It's always great seeing new independent cafes opening up in Oxford (especially if we get to deliver pasties to them), so we were delighted to see Kelpie open this week down on the Abingdon Road 🎉

Last summer we were delivering pastries to their little coffee van early in the morning in Hinksey park, and now this!

Do go and grab a coffee in the sun, or if you were going to get the Park and Ride into town, why not park and walk via a coffee stop in the sun..... 😉☀️

Building sustainability in Oxford 💪

We had a great time yesterday helping .construct pickup and deliver items for their Beard Open Door Tours day from the head office outside of the ring road, and dropping them at one of their sites slap bang in the city centre!

We were saddened to hear about the closure of Pedal & Post last week, and the impact on their staff and riders.

Pedal & Post were the first cargo-bike courier company in Oxford, and since their launch over 14 years ago it’s been heartening to see the increase in Oxfordshire businesses choosing to switch to sustainable, emission free deliveries by bike and electric van.

Velocity and Pedal & Post shared the same goal of cutting carbon emissions on the streets of Oxford by switching away from traditional diesel delivery to electric bikes and vans.

We're sorry to see them go.

📦 2025 Delivery Status: Almost There!

As December rolls towards the end, and we lightly apply some pressure to our brakes for Christmas, we would just like to wish a heartfelt Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and thank you to all the wonderful businesses that trust us to deliver for them, as well as all of our extremely hardworking riders, drivers, and behind the scenes staff that keep Velocity rolling!

We'll see many of you after Christmas, but to those we don't see, from all of us here at Velocity HQ, we hope you all have a restful and relaxing (or raucous) Christmas break and a wonderful New Year, however you celebrate. See you in 2026!

We are ready and waiting for the brilliant new initiative from on the High Street to re purpose old board and card games -
Hoyles are encouraging people to look at their collection and ask: is this game still bringing me joy? If not, it could bring joy to someone else instead! It’s a simple way to clear space, reduce waste and support the community at the same time. We’re really excited about it.
Oxfordshire residents (and those from further afield!) are invited to bring in complete board and card games in good condition into Hoyle’s throughout February. They’re teaming up with Velocity Cycle Couriers to ensure the donated games reach those who can make the best use of them, including local schools, community groups and prison libraries.

Three bikes converged on the High Street for a chat whilst collecting & delivering to the Colleges
