It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news that Pedal & Post’s journey has come to an end after 14 years.

Earlier this year, we lost a major client. Despite exploring every possible avenue to continue - and truly exhausting all options - we have reached the point where we can no longer sustain the business. As a result, both our Oxford and London sites have now closed

We want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported Pedal & Post over the years: our clients, partners, riders, staff, and the wider community who believed in what we were trying to achieve. Your support meant everything.

Since our founding, Pedal & Post has worked tirelessly to show that cargo bike deliveries are not just possible, but practical, sustainable, and better for cities. Over 14 years, we’ve helped remove countless vans from urban roads, reduced emissions, and shown that a people-powered delivery model can deliver excellent service while putting cities first.

While this chapter has come to a close, we firmly believe this is not the end for cargo bike logistics. The landscape today looks very different to when we started - with major carriers now investing in low-carbon, bike-based urban delivery models and the cargo bikes themselves being worlds apart from when we started as early adopters. We’re proud to have been part of that shift and to have helped pave the way.

Thank you, once again, for being part of our story and for helping us imagine - and build - cities that feel fit for the future.

🎄✅ Final deliveries complete - depot empty - and every last present delivered before Christmas.

We want to say a huge thank you to our incredible team who made this peak season such a success.

Christmas is always one of the most demanding times of year in logistics and this year brought everything with it: heavy rain, difficult conditions, and illness across teams. But our riders, drivers, and supervisors showed up day after day, pulled together, and got the job done.

From the early starts to the late finishes, the resilience and dedication of this team has been outstanding and we couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved.

From all of us at Pedal & Post: thank you for the continued support, and a special thank you to our riders who kept the city moving.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - now it’s time for some well-earned rest. 🎁🚲💚

🌧️⚠️ Yellow Rain Warning in the UK yesterday.
Most people: “Nope, staying inside.”
Our trainees: “Perfect day for a ride.”

🚲💨 Shoutout to not only our veteran core team putting another winter under their belt but the new recruits who took on one of December’s worst weather days and still smashed their training.

If you’re looking for dedication to getting your presents to you this christmas … this is it.

If you’re looking for dry socks… not here. 😂

🚲✨ Cargo Bikes, Clean Streets, and Christmas Deliveries in Oxford! 🎄📦

There’s something special about riding a cargo bike through Oxford, weaving through historic streets, cutting through the congestion, and delivering with purpose. At Pedal & Post, our mission has always been to make cities cleaner, safer, and more liveable, and our riders bring that mission to life every single day.

This week, we’re celebrating the success of our new trainee riders, who have officially completed their training and are now out on the streets helping us tackle the Christmas rush! 🎉👏

From handling the city’s busiest routes to keeping emissions low during one of the most demanding times of the year, they’ve stepped up brilliantly, showing exactly what purpose-driven logistics looks like.

A huge thank you to our whole Oxford team for the incredible work you’re doing. 🌍💚

E-Bike Battery Theft – Reminder on Seasonal Security

Last night, one of our e-bike batteries was forcibly removed and stolen from one of our cargo bikes. Please remain vigilant and keep an eye out for anyone attempting to sell e-bike batteries in the Oxfordshire area.

As we move into a period where thefts typically increase, we’re sharing this incident as a reminder to take extra precautions with your fleet / personal bikes. Good tips are ensuring bikes are secured appropriately, and batteries are removed or locked away whenever possible, especially in the lead-up to Christmas.

Our mechanics are already working to replace the battery cradle and fit a new battery so the bike can be returned to service as soon as possible this week

Quietly Delivering change in the city: Our Minimal Cargo Bike Journey 🚲⚡

Over the past few weeks, Oxford’s streets have had a subtle but exciting change - they’ve become a little cleaner, a little calmer, and a lot more efficient thanks to the introduction of our new Minimal cargo bikes. 📦

We’ve been rolling them out across our final-mile operations with a new national client to join us shortly, and the team has been genuinely impressed. These bikes are smooth, incredibly stable, and built to handle the stop-start nature of city deliveries - perfect for navigating Oxford’s narrow lanes, busy High Street, and everything in between. 🌍

No circling for parking, no emissions, no stress - just a quieter, cleaner way to keep the city moving. And yes, still very much a leg day. 💪

What’s even better is seeing more businesses taking an interest in low-emission last-mile transport. As more organisations explore cargo bike solutions, the whole city benefits - fewer vans, less congestion, and cleaner air for everyone.

If you’re beginning your own trials with Minimal cargo bikes, we wish you the best of luck. You might discover, just like we have, how transformative a small shift in delivery methods can really be.

We’d love to hear your experiences and insights of using cargo bikes across your cities!

P.S To the cargo bike rider with the painted on bus that photobombed, we love the cargo bike so much we included it here too!

🚴 The End of White Van Deliveries? (Part 2) 🌍📦

What if the future of urban logistics isn’t bigger, but smaller?

Research shows that electric cargo bikes deliver up to 60% faster than vans in city centres, dropping 10 parcels an hour compared to 6 for vans. They also cut CO₂ emissions by up to 90% compared with diesel vehicles and by a third even when compared with electric vans.

Why? Because vans get stuck in traffic, circle for parking, and are often unable to access low-traffic or pedestrianised areas. Cargo bikes bypass congestion, ride door-to-door, and take shortcuts through streets closed to cars, making them faster, cleaner, and more reliable.

And the potential impact is huge: studies estimate that over 50% of all urban freight journeys could be replaced by cargo bikes. That’s not just less carbon, it’s fewer road collisions, safer streets, and cleaner air in our cities.

With home deliveries soaring and transport emissions barely falling, switching to cargo bikes isn’t just an environmental choice, it’s an operational advantage. They’re already transforming cities across Europe, cutting thousands of tonnes of CO₂ and proving that sustainable logistics works.

At Pedal & Post, we’re proud to be part of that shift. Our fleet already delivers thousands of parcels across Oxford and London every week, faster, cleaner, and 100% emission-free.

The age of the white van is coming to an end. The future of city logistics? It’s already on two, three and four wheeled bikes. 🚴🌱

At Pedal & Post, we’ve always believed in moving our cities forward — faster, smarter, greener and using hte latest tech. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of our brand-new Minimal cargo bikes, now part of our last mile delivery fleet, delivering thousands of parcels in the run up to Christmas and be a vital part in playing Santa!

We dont need to commit to using cleaner vehicles, the tech is available now and we're already 100% electric fleet and guarented for all deliveries, cleaner, more efficient cities that are fossil fuel free, now!. With zero emissions, the ability to navigate busy streets, and the flexibility to reach areas vans can’t, our Minimal bikes are set to make a real difference for local businesses and residents alike.

🌍 Electrify London – Rethinking How We Move Goods in Cities 🚴⚡️

One of our first networking events since launching in London, and what a brilliant way to kick things off! I spent a truly insightful morning at , organised by Clean Cities hosted by Westminster city council
– huge thanks to for the invite 🙌

What stood out was the attention given to freight and urban logistics – something that’s often overlooked in transport conversations. Yet, vans are now the leading cause of transport-related pollution in London, so bringing cargo bikes and electric vehicles into the spotlight is essential if we’re serious about creating cleaner, safer cities and seems to be largely prompted by the congestion charge zone soon to include EVs

💡 Key takeaways:

Discussions around the congestion charge and how policy can shape behaviour were particularly eye-opening, discussing the pros and cons of how we increase electric vehicle uptake whilst reducing congestion at peak times is a difficult conversation (although most freight can be done by cargo bikes!)

The progress in the Netherlands’ Zero Emission Zones is inspiring — we’re proud to already operate in the UK’s first ZEZ in Oxford, showing what’s possible here too.

A standout moment was an incredible talk by Max Sullivan, who highlighted the need to prioritise walking, cycling, and more resource-efficient vehicles — not just for reduced pollution, but for safety and healthier cities too (Really wish i'd recorded it)

We’re committed to being part of this conversation and driving real change in how we move goods sustainably. 🌱🚚 From cargo bikes to zero-emission logistics hubs, there’s so much potential to rethink how cities work — and collaboration is key.

👉 We’re looking to get involved in more events, discussions, and partnerships around sustainable freight and future city logistics. If you’re organising something, drop me a message — we’d love to be part of it.
