For generations, the sound of Scillonian III’s whistle drifting across the islands meant one thing - she was coming home.

Menawethan has reached her final stop before arriving in the UK.

Our new 45m freight vessel, Menawethan, arrived in Concarneau in France this morning, marking her final scheduled stop before continuing to Penzance.

This stop has always been an important part of her delivery programme, allowing time at the Piriou Shipyard for final inspections, commissioning checks and sign-off procedures ahead of the last leg of her journey.

Following a successful voyage from Vietnam, she’ll soon welcome Isles of Scilly Freight crew on board as preparations begin for her entry into service.

We’re so pleased to see how popular our Scillonian III merchandise range has been. Thank you to everyone who has picked up something from the collection so far.
