Not your everyday freight

Today, Gugh transported a Cessna 180 Skywagon from Porthloo, St Mary's, to Penzance. With a damaged wing preventing the aircraft from flying back to the mainland, our team carefully loaded and safely delivered it to Penzance this afternoon, ready for the next stage of its journey to Bournemouth.

Since arriving in June, Menawethan has been officially named, her crew have become familiar with the vessel and her operations, and she has successfully completed her first operational sailings.

Last month, she made a special visit to St Mary's, opening up to the island community before entering full service. More than 150 people stepped on board to explore the vessel, meet the crew and find out more about the newest addition to our fleet.

If you’d like to attend a community open day on board Menawethan on St Mary's, let us know in the comments below. We'll be hosting an open day in Penzance this autumn.

We look forward to sharing more of her journey in the months ahead.
