Healthcare access is about more than emergency transport.
Many elderly, disabled and mobility-restricted people struggle to attend appointments because they have no family support, cannot travel independently or require additional assistance.
Airports, railways and public transport have long recognised the importance of passenger assistance services. As our population ages and more people live with long-term conditions, healthcare should also consider how supported mobility services can help people access appointments, rehabilitation and community care safely and independently.
Improving healthcare access isnβt just about getting people to hospital in an emergency β itβs about ensuring people can get the right support, at the right time, in the right way.
