What's better than one tall ship on the Barbican Landing Stage?
Two tall ships on the Barbican Landing Stage!

We're delighted to have welcomed the Pelican of London to the BLS this morning; she joins the Morgenster VOF alongside for the next few days.

The Morgenster is hosting 'open ship' sessions each morning between now and Monday ahead of her afternoon sailing experiences. These sessions are free, simply step onboard the Morgenster, take a look and chat to the crew. The Pelican of London will not be open to the public during her stay.

Come along this Bank Holiday weekend, grab a coffee or a bite to eat from one of the local businesses on Commercial Wharf and marvel at these two historic beauties.

Tall Ship Morgenster has safely arrived in Plymouth ⚓️

Her crew will be hosting an ‘open ship’ tomorrow from 12:00 until approx. 16:30 and then each morning from 10:00 until approx. 13:00 (Thursday 27th until Monday 31st August) ahead of planned sailing experiences each afternoon from the Barbican Landing Stage.

The ‘open ship’ sessions are free and provide a great opportunity to meet the crew who will be happy to answer any questions about this beautiful tall ship.

We're looking forward to welcoming the Morgenster VOF to Plymouth for the Bank Holiday weekend.

She'll be on the Barbican Landing Stage from Thursday (27th) until Monday (31st) and will be offering three hour sailing experiences each afternoon from 14:00 - 17:00.

IN THE WAKE OF CHICHESTER ⛵️

Join us at the Royal Western Yacht Club on Wednesday 26th August at 1830hrs as we welcome John Passmore and mark the start of his incredible challenge to follow in the wake of Sir Francis Chichester.

John will set sail from Plymouth Sound at midday on Thursday 27th August — exactly 60 years to the day since Chichester’s departure from Plymouth.

🚤 On Thursday morning, a flotilla led by the RNLI lifeboat and Cattewater Harbour pilot boat will es**rt John from Mayflower Marina, along the Hoe and to the club before he heads for the Breakwater and begins his voyage.

At Wednesday’s reception, Commodore Chris Arscott will welcome John as a new member of the club and present him with a Royal Western burgee to fly during his voyage.

All members are welcome to join us and wish John fair winds for this remarkable adventure. 🌊⛵️
