Over the Bank Holiday weekend, more than 150 yachts competed in the water in Poole Harbour and Poole Bay, with 80 berthed at our marina Poole Quay Boat Haven & Port of Poole Marina for the International paint poole regatta, one of the key highlights of the sailing calendar.

This year’s event also hosted the IRC European Championship, attracting an exceptional fleet of competitive racing yachts and crews from across Europe.

Great picture captured by one of our coxswains of Noble Caledonia Cruises's Ocean Nova back to Poole on Saturday 23 May 2026 alongside DFDS International Levante Jet and Brittany Ferries Barfleur.

Ocean Nova was back for disembarkation after their "Bird Quest" cruise between Poole and Oban, centring on birdlife and wildlife discovery between Poole, the Channel Islands, Isles of Scilly, Wales and the Outer Hebrides.

Today Poole Quay Boat Haven & Port of Poole Marina hosts the start of the iconic Poole Regatta, one of the UK’s largest and most celebrated sailing events. And this year it features the Poole IRC European Championship!

Bringing together hundreds of sailors, support crews and spectators, events like this not only celebrate competitive sport, but also highlight the importance of our harbour to the local community, tourism and maritime industry.

We wish all competitors, organisers and volunteers a successful and enjoyable regatta week. ⛵
