⚠️ Tyre Safety Reminder! ⚠️
The DOT date code on this motorcycle tyre shows 1507 – meaning it was manufactured in the 15th week of 2007. That’s 19 years old! 😳
And on a ZX12R! 😣🏍️
What’s even more surprising is that the customer had just ridden all the way from Cornwall to Wimborne on it. While the tread might still look usable to some, rubber deteriorates with age, losing grip, flexibility and overall safety – especially on a motorcycle where tyre performance is critical.
📸 This is a perfect example of why tyre age and the shape of the tyre is just as important as tread depth.
The good news? The bike has now been fitted with a fresh new set of Pirelli Rosso II tyres, giving the rider the grip, confidence and safety they should have on the road. ✅🏍️
Have you checked the age of your tyres lately? You might be surprised what you find!
