Job Type: Van Driver - Full-Time, Permanent

About Us

Andrew Abraham Transport is a professional and customer-focused transport company committed to providing reliable and efficient delivery services. We are seeking a dependable and motivated Van Driver to join our team and represent our business to the highest standard.

Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Friday: 8:30am – 4:15pm
40 hours per week
One Saturday per month required

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate company vans in accordance with all road traffic laws and company policies.

Complete daily delivery and collection schedules efficiently and on time.

Load and unload goods, ensuring all items are handled with care.

Carry out routine vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues promptly.

Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain proof of delivery where required.

Provide excellent customer service and represent Andrew Abraham Transport professionally at all times.

Ensure vehicles are kept clean, tidy, and roadworthy.

Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding schedules, delays, or customer queries.

Adhere to all health and safety procedures.

Requirements

Full UK driving licence with the appropriate entitlement to drive company vehicles.

Previous van driving or delivery experience is desirable but not essential.

Good knowledge of local and surrounding road networks.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and customer service skills.
A reliable, flexible, and positive attitude towards work.

Due to the increased workload at Andrew Abraham Transport, we require a Class 2 Lorry Driver with an immediate start.

The job role of the required driver includes the following duties:

Operating commercial vehicles up to and over 7.5 tonnes, including rigid trucks

Driving long or short distances

Planning delivery schedules and routes with transport manager

Supervising or helping to load and unload goods

Lifting and carrying goods

Making sure loads are safely secured

Following traffic reports and adapting routes if necessary

Completing delivery paperwork

Keeping up-to-date logbooks

Carrying out basic routine maintenance, such as oil, Tyre and brake checks

The driver must have all up to date cards and be ready for work.

Must be over 25 for insurance purposes
