The harbour is well protected from the south and south westerly winds, as it shelters behind the Isle of Portland and Chesil Beach, and is circled by an extensive breakwate

r system which protects it from adverse easterly weather conditions. Portland Port offers a safe, sheltered and deep harbour which makes it a superb choice for all vessels, from small yachts to some of the largest cruise ships in the world. Our reception & offices are open Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm
The Marine department is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Portland Castle is just outside the Port , in Castletown - overlooking Portland Marina.
The "Captains Tearoom" is renowned for delicious Dorset Apple Cake, Scones and Cream Teas
Built by Henry VIII in 1539, a Tudor fortress with more than 400 years of history
Come along to Portland Castle to enjoy the peaceful & tranquil gardens .
