25 years ago today. It’s one of those moments in history that stays with you, no matter how much time passes.
I was 28, living and working in Turkey at the time. It was my day off, and someone came running over to tell me what had happened. We ended up gathered in reception, watching the news in complete disbelief as the events unfolded live in front of us.
So much has changed since then — how we communicate, how we travel, how connected the world feels. Years later, in 2019, I found myself standing at the 9/11 Memorial in New York. It’s a place of quiet beauty and deep emotion, and it stays with you long after you leave.
Today I’m sharing a few photos from that visit. Remembering those who lost their lives, the families whose worlds were changed forever, the first responders who ran towards danger, and everyone affected on that day.
25 years on… where were you when you first heard the news? Have you ever visited the memorial?
Today we remember, we reflect, and we appreciate the people and moments we’re lucky to have in our lives.
