St Michaels Airfield Welcome to St Michaels Airfield, home to both Northern Microlights Flight School and the NWMAC.

St Michaels Airfield situated just under 6 miles North West of Preston on the beautiful Fylde coast peninsula, within easy reach of truly stunning scenery such as the Lake District, Yorkshire dales and the North West coast. Microlight Pilot information:-

Charity Flight Weekend Update

We have an updated total for the weekend and an acknowledgment from Kelly from North West Air Ambulance.

“Wow, what an incredible weekend! Thank you so much for letting me know. Sorry I wasn't able to come down.

£3,720 is an absolutely fantastic amount to have raised for NWAA, and please pass on my huge thanks to all 11 pilots and everyone at the North West Microlight Club who helped make the weekend such a success.

It’s amazing to hear that you’ve once again brought the local community together to support the charity. Fundraising events like this really do make such a difference and help us continue providing our lifesaving service across the North West.

Thank you also for transferring the money into our account today. We really do appreciate all the support you and the club continue to give us. ❤️ I will get a letter and certificate out in the post for you 🙂

Massive Thank You to all the people who came this weekend to our Charity Flight Weekend, we think you enjoyed yourselves!!!

Also a big shout out to all of our North West Microlight Aircraft Club members for volunteering their time, aircraft and fuel.

We haven’t added it all up yet, but we have raised around £3600 this weekend to North West Air Ambulance.

We have had an amazing turnout today, so many people wanting a flight.

Unfortunately it was a bit windy which restricted the number of pilots available to take people up.

Some people are having to come back tomorrow when the weather should be calmer.

Charity Flight Weekend
15th and 16th August 2026
St Michaels Airfield.

The weather is looking perfect, if you have ever wanted to see what our beautiful Fylde Coast looks like from the air, then this is your chance.

25 to 30 minutes in the air in a Flexwing or Fixed Wing Microlight for £50 which all goes to North West Air Ambulance.

Our experienced club pilots love nothing more than showing people what a privilege it is to be able to fly in such stunning scenery.

No need to book, just turn up and we will take you up.

Flights will be conducted between 10am and 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday (subject to weather conditions on the day)

It’s time for a fly out from St Michaels. We have headed to Atheys Moor Airfield with a mix of Flexwing and Fixed Wing for their Wings and Wheels event.
We are camping tonight and hopefully fit enough to head back home tomorrow morning.

Free parking and entry, bring a camping chair if you have one as we only have a limited number of seats.
