Morning world 🌍

How's your day looking?

Ok, as discussed, here’s the start of my journey…

My first proper job was as an apprentice mechanic with Porsche. This photo is a fresh-faced, floppy-haired version of me sitting in a Porsche 962 Le Mans race car. Looking back, I don’t think I realised at the time just how lucky I was to be surrounded by some of the most incredible cars ever built.

I spent around 7 years on the tools, learning my trade and working on some truly special machinery. I loved the job, but eventually I got itchy feet and wanted to see something other than the same four walls every day.

That decision set me off on the path that eventually led me into transport and trucking, but we'll continue that tomorrow …

And yes, if the lottery numbers ever come in, a Porsche will be the first thing on the shopping list! 😎

What a cracking day it is today! ☀️

For all the drivers out there, what’s your story? Where’s the most interesting, challenging, unusual, or downright enjoyable place you’ve ever driven?

I’ve been lucky enough to see some incredible places over the years, but I’ll save my own driving history for tomorrow before I bore you all with it! 😆

The LimeLiner spent the weekend at Truckfest Newbury, soaking up the sunshine by day and shining brightly at night.
🚛✨
The trucks all looked great but I think the Truckfest shows are living off the name these days. Ticket prices seem to go up every year and it's the same old s**t. "Meet a celebrity wannabe..."
Personally, I much prefer the convoy shows. You get all the great trucks, but with a bit of racing action thrown in.
Did anyone else make it to Truckfest Newbury this weekend? What did you think?

Afternoon world 🌍

Another one of those glamorous workshop weekends for the LimeLiner that seem to come around far too frequently … 😅

Wheels off, brakes checked, hubs inspected and everything given a good once over. It’s all part of keeping the wheels turning and making sure the truck is right when the work’s there.

Safe to say I definitely got my money’s worth out of one of the mid-lift tyres though… 👀
I'll never get Pirellis again. “Premium tyres” my arse… worn worse than anything else I’ve ever run and didn’t last anywhere near as well as expected.

Running trucks isn’t always sunsets, shiny paint and motorway photos. Sometimes it’s covered in brake dust, chasing wear issues and spending your weekend in the workshop instead of at home!

Still… at least we're still running 👍🚛💚

Sun’s out and the LimeLiner’s looking the part ☀️💚

One of the things I actually love about container work… you get those little pockets of time while you’re waiting. Instead of just sitting there, it’s the perfect chance to get the truck cleaned up and polished 👌

Nothing better than a bit of sunshine, a tidy motor, and being paid to wait 😎

Anyone else make the most of the downtime or just watch crappy videos? 👀
