Unfortunately today was a stark reminder of how tight profit margins in haulage really are. Not just for us but for all hauliers.
14.5 hours in total on shift, 2 loads, over 300 miles covered, and not a penny earned.
Admittedly it was my mistake that caused the loss for today.
Blind side reversing off a narrow street into a tight yard, clipped the corner of a concrete slab and it was all over. Two tyres knackered, profit gone, day wasted.

BUT…

Tomorrow’s a new day and we go again!

The past few weeks have been absolutely mental here at Big Lift HQ. Battling hot weather and a couple of breakdowns, but we’ve managed to hold it all together (just about) and all without letting a single customer down. Anyone that runs a business knows, it’s not easy. That said however there are moments you get to sit and appreciate how far you’ve come.
We get to operate in some stunning locations for some great customers and a lot of it is down to all of you that pass on our services through word of mouth or share our posts on social media. So a massive thank you to all that support us!

I always had a feeling I’d be going places in life… I’d never have guessed it was up and down a ladder though 😂.
