Big Lift Crane / Hiab hire

11/10/2026

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever seen lifted by a crane? 👀

We’ve lifted hot tubs, steel beams, roof trusses, shipping containers, site cabins, machinery and plenty of things that have made people say… “You’re lifting that with THAT?!” 😂

At Big Lift, we specialise in making awkward, heavy and impossible-looking jobs look easy.

🏗️ Steelwork? No problem.
🏡 Roof trusses? Easy.
🛁 Hot tub that needs getting somewhere it shouldn’t fit? We’ve got you covered.
📦 Containers, site offices, machinery and construction materials? That’s what we do.

Whether it’s planned work or a last-minute lifting challenge, our Hiab and crane services are ready to help.

Now we want to know… 👇
What’s the biggest or weirdest thing you’ve ever seen moved?

(Extra points if you’ve got a photo! 😆)

🦆🦆 Papped bringing our new toy home. We’ve been busy tinkering away turning this ugly duckling into a slightly less ugly duck.

She’ll soon be available to hire with or without operator and with a selection of attachments / buckets, 360 cameras, and optional lifting equipment.

We will also be taking on more demolition / site clearance work along side the crane hire.

If this looks like something that could make your job easier, feel free to get in contact with us to discuss your requirements.

We’re currently having the website redone to include more information on this, but in the meantime… you know what to do.

Unfortunately today was a stark reminder of how tight profit margins in haulage really are. Not just for us but for all hauliers.
14.5 hours in total on shift, 2 loads, over 300 miles covered, and not a penny earned.
Admittedly it was my mistake that caused the loss for today.
Blind side reversing off a narrow street into a tight yard, clipped the corner of a concrete slab and it was all over. Two tyres knackered, profit gone, day wasted.

BUT…

Tomorrow’s a new day and we go again!

The past few weeks have been absolutely mental here at Big Lift HQ. Battling hot weather and a couple of breakdowns, but we’ve managed to hold it all together (just about) and all without letting a single customer down. Anyone that runs a business knows, it’s not easy. That said however there are moments you get to sit and appreciate how far you’ve come.
We get to operate in some stunning locations for some great customers and a lot of it is down to all of you that pass on our services through word of mouth or share our posts on social media. So a massive thank you to all that support us!

P.S.. if you require any crane work, you know what to do 😉

This past week has been all about containers! Containers containers and more containers.

I always had a feeling I’d be going places in life… I’d never have guessed it was up and down a ladder though 😂.

If anyone has anything OTHER than containers you’d like lifting or shifting, give us a call!…. Jokes, I’ll still do containers..
