Today is the day Merchant Navy day where we recognise the bravery of men and women of the Merchant Navy who kept supply lines open during two World Wars, to persevering through Covid 19 and they continue to act as key workers, bringing essential food, medicines and other goods to the UK today.
With over 95% of goods transported in the UK by sea, today, we continue to rely on seafarers onboard the Merchant Navy ships to keep us fed, fuelled and supplied.
