One of the great things about being in this industry is that you definitely DON'T need to fork out for a gym membership. The term "first floor" can mean a multitude of things, usually a normal staircase leading upstairs. In these two instances one was an amazing country clubhouse located on a picturesque golf course. The other a factory that had been turned into modern apartments overlooking the city centre. In both cases, we got our exercise for the day and got to enjoy the scenery on offer. This time we drove across country to another seemingly simple job. "Collect and deliver a scooter". As is common, the information of it not being able to roll, steer or be removed from a rather waterlogged and weakened pallet was lost in translation. It took a bit of oomph and a pair of good quality gloves, but we managed to get it back to the distributor where it was going for a much needed repair.

Occasionally you're blessed by the Removal Gods. This gentleman had a large array of bespoke, hefty furniture. When we arrived to the delivery point and it was a farm, experience tells you that usually means a long walk, muddy paths and tiny doors leading to narrow hallways. On this glorious day we were told he wanted us to place his belongings in a very large and modern barn area. We pulled into the barn and managed to park literally next to where he wanted us to offload. It doesn't get any better than that!

When you've got a big old vehicle, on street parking can be problematic, depending on the street. It's a tricky game making sure you can access the property, the van AND to make sure you're not stopping traffic. Here is an example of premium parking showing just how accurate you can park these larger vehicles when you've got the experience. If you're thinking of buying something like this, pay the extra for a reversing camera. It makes life much easier and more importantly, far safer.

Some houses are a little different. Some houses are just little. This gorgeous cottage is a little slice of history with the quirks to go along with it. A tiny front door and even smaller staircase presented it's own individual problems to overcome while delivering the ladies furniture. It took a bit of twisting, turning, ducking and a good while longer than usual but we got all of her old house into her new home safe and sound.

Sometimes this job is like a puzzle to be solved. We helped this company, who manufacture by hand, custom built media walls, to deliver them all across the UK. With their satin paint jobs, integrated electronic fireplaces, varied dimensions and very delicate trims... plus making sure you load them in the correct order to deliver them, it's certainly not a case of "load and leave". We took every precaution to wrap the surfaces, polystyrene the corners and strap each item so it could no move against another. Safe to say, these went ALL over the country and each one got to their new homes without issue.

When we set off to collect a TukTuk, we had very vague details. We arrived to find it 200 yards down a pedestrian only area with no front wheel and a flat back tyre. Lesser men would have abandoned the job, but not us. We used our piano mover to support the front end, incrementally adjusting the angle so as we could steer it through the precinct. Too wide for the integrated ramp that we use for motorbikes, we relied on the old muscles to get it safely loaded. Another job completed without issue.

This piano came from Hong Kong in a crate and needed our team to transport her the final leg of the journey. Safely wrapped and secured, transported and placed in situ by our team. Pianos are not to be taken lightly, they're heavy, bulky and require experience to be moved correctly. Rest assured, this rather expensive example made it to it's new home just as pristine as when it left the far east.

Can you wheelie get that on that back?! Of course we can. A classic Honda Goldwing, one of the biggest and most iconic bikes safely loaded and transported across country for our happy customer. You've always got to be careful with motorbikes, especially when they weight 400kg.
