As part of the Scarborough 400 programme, Central Tramway are supporting the Sunday Best Parade on 6th September. Anyone in period dress will travel free during the day.
We can’t wait to see some fabulous costumes!!!

Just a reminder that Central Tramway is currently open 7 days a week from 9:30 to 21:45. You can find us by looking for our gantry lights which we had installed earlier in the year… we think they look stunning 🤩

One of this years events to Celebrate Scarborough 400 is the Sunday Parade on 6th September, 2026. This an opportunity to dress as our families would have during the Victorian and Edwardian periods, while showcases the rich history of our town.
Anyone wearing period dress will have free travel during the day to support this brilliant venture.

We are looking to hire a handy person at Central Tramway.
We would like someone to help maintain our gardens and be available to help with maintenance tasks throughout the year. There will be a minimum of 16hrs of work a week, with the opportunity to increase those hours by learning the tramway operative role.
We are looking for someone with experience within the maintenance/ gardening role.
It is essential to point out that we are on a cliff side, as such the applying person must be comfortable in climbing up and down the stairs.

We had some special guests today from Sci-Fi Scarborough and scarboroughgarrison, keeping the streets of Scarborough safe for all us humanoids!
Sci-Fi Scarborough is at the Spa on 18th/19th April, we expect more visitors from realms unknown between now and then.

Over the years, we’ve received plenty of positive feedback from our customers, who’s opinions we LOVE to hear!

One such thing is the careful way we put effort into preserving this iconic piece of Scarborough’s rich history, with the hope of keeping it going for another 145 years!

However, we’ve noticed a change in air in 2026, and have decided to take on a new structural approach to the operation of the tramway.

That’s why we’ve introduced something super exciting…our new loop-the-loop! 🎢

If you’re looking for an exciting experience to add to the Victorian vibes, hop onto the Olympia tram for the thrill!

If it’s not your speed, don’t worry, the Grand tram still has the standard track.

We look forward to welcoming you down for this new addition this Easter! 🐣
