π§ SERVICE 399 β WEST BUTTERWICK π§
We are extremely sorry to announce that Service 399 will be unable to serve West Butterwick for the remainder of this week.
We had been assured by the council that the road blockade would be removed or access would be available to allow us to operate the 16:05 journey to Misterton via the Colleges and Isle of Axholme, along with the morning service to colleges for the remainder of the week.
Unfortunately, that assurance has proved to be incorrect.
The road blockade is still in place. Our driver attempted to get through but was unable to pass and had no choice but to turn around and return to Outmill.
This is extremely disappointing and frustrating, particularly for the residents of West Butterwick who have already been without a bus service since July, and for students who depend on Service 399 to get to colleges in Scunthorpe.
We want to make it absolutely clear that we have done everything we can to provide this service. We were prepared to operate the journeys based on the assurances given to us by the council, only to find that the road remains blocked.
Our passengers have once again been let down and this time, it is not through any lack of effort on our part.
We apologise sincerely to the residents and students affected. You deserve a reliable bus service, and we share your frustration that circumstances outside our control are preventing us from providing it.
We have tried our best for West Butterwick. Unfortunately, we have been let down by the council. π
