🚑 Amvale Medical Supporting Scunthorpe Armed Forces Day 2026 🇬🇧

On Saturday 20th June, the Amvale Medical team was proud to provide medical cover for the Scunthorpe Armed Forces Day celebrations at Normanby Hall Country Park.

It was a fantastic day, with the community coming together to recognise and thank the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, in our Armed Forces. We were delighted to be part of such a well-supported local event, helping to ensure everyone could enjoy the day safely.

A big thank you to the event organisers, fellow emergency service partners, volunteers and, of course, everyone who attended and made the day such a success.

We’re currently seeking Ambulance Care Assistants in Scunthorpe to transport children with special educational needs to and from school. This position is ideal for someone looking for part time work including the retired / semi retired.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Ambulance Care Assistant (SEN) for our Schools Specialist Transport Division) to provide compassionate and professional care for children and young people with special educational needs. This role involves supporting pupils during transportation to and from school, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The successful candidate will play a vital part in facilitating access to education while delivering high standards of patient care within a specialised transport environment. Experience in assisted living, patient care, or nursing is highly desirable, alongside a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals with diverse needs.

Duties

Safely assist children and young people with SEN during transportation, ensuring their comfort and security throughout journeys

Provide medical aid when necessary, responding promptly to any medical needs or emergencies

Drive the vehicle safely, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies

Assist with heavy lifting of mobility aids or specialised equipment to facilitate safe transfers

Support pupils in activities that promote social interaction during transit

Maintain accurate records of journeys, incidents, and care provided in compliance with organisational policies

15 hours a week (term time only)
Start & finish at our Scunthorpe (Bottesford) Ambulance Station
£13 per hour during probationary/training period rising to £13:50

What We’re Looking For:

A caring and reliable individual with a passion for helping others.
Previous larger vehicle driving experience is a plus, but not essential.
Willingness to work as part of a dedicated team.

Successful applicants will be required to:

· Undergo an enhanced DBS check
· A medical check (cost met by Amvale
· Hold a full UK car licence with no more than 3 points

🚑 Bank Ambulance Staff Required – Events

🚑We are currently recruiting Bank Ambulance Staff to support our events medical cover mainly during evenings and weekends.
Roles Required:

• Emergency Care Assistants (ECA) – £15 per hour
• Ambulance Technicians – £17 per hour
• Paramedics – £27 per hour

Requirements:

✔ Fully qualified and experienced
✔ CERAD blue light qualification essential
✔ Able to work evenings and weekends
✔ Based within commuting distance of our Scunthorpe base

📍 Work will mainly cover Lincolnshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire

We are looking for Ambulance Care Assistants (ACA) to join our friendly, professional team working out of our Scunthorpe Ambulance Station.
