Manor Development Company Ltd is a well-established charity supporting local businesses and employment. We’re looking for an organised, enthusiastic person to join our small friendly team.
✅ Key duties:
Use Sage 50 for receipts, payments & invoicing
Maintain ledgers, bank reconciliations & debt control
Assist with payroll, reports & end-of-year work
⏰ Hours & Pay:
25–30 hrs/week | Mon–Fri 9am–5pm
Flexible hours available
£25,000 – £26,000 FTE
Permanent role (3-month probation)
🎓 What you need:
AAT Level 2 qualified
Some accounts experience
Confident with Sage, Excel & Outlook
Good organisation & communication
Driving licence desirable

☀️ Surviving the heatwave at work? Here’s how I’m staying cool & comfortable — all cheap, easy tricks you can try today! ☀️
When the office feels like a greenhouse and the AC just isn’t cutting it, these hacks are absolute lifesavers. No fancy gear needed — just things you already have at home or at your desk:
❄️ ICE + FAN TRICK
Put a bowl of ice (or frozen water bottles) right in front of your desk fan. It blows chilled air straight at you — like a mini DIY air con! Add a pinch of salt to the ice for extra cooling power.
💦 COOLING TOWEL HACK
Soak a small cloth/bandana in cold water, wring it out, and pop it in the fridge/freezer for 10–15 mins. Tie it around your neck or wrists — cooling your pulse points brings your whole body temp down fast. Keep a spare in a plastic bag to swap over!
🌬️ COLD MIST SPRAY
Fill an empty spray bottle with cold water. Spritz your face, neck, or arms whenever you feel hot — evaporation cools you instantly. Add a tiny drop of peppermint oil for that fresh, icy feeling (if allowed!).
🧊 FROZEN BOTTLE FOOTREST
Freeze 1–2 water bottles, wrap them in a thin towel/sock, and rest your feet on them. Cooling your feet really helps lower your overall body heat — feels amazing!
🪟 REFLECT THE HEAT AWAY
Tape aluminium foil (shiny side out) or white card to your window or blind. It bounces sunlight and heat back outside before it can warm up your desk — super effective and pennies to do.
📐 BOOST YOUR FAN
If your fan feels weak, tape a piece of cardboard behind it to funnel the airflow exactly where you sit. Way more cool air reaches you instead of spreading out.
Plus the basics that make a big difference:
✅ Wear loose, light-coloured clothes in breathable fabrics like cotton or linen
✅ Sip cool water all day — avoid too much coffee or sugary drinks (they dehydrate you!)
✅ Close blinds/curtains between 11am–4pm to block the hottest sun
✅ Do your hardest tasks early morning or late afternoon when it’s cooler
