Sunday question… what holiday are you STILL talking about? 💭✈️

We all have one.

That holiday that somehow finds its way into conversation years later.

Maybe it was the hotel you never wanted to leave, a meal you still compare every other meal to, something incredible you saw, or simply a trip where everything just seemed to fall into place.

It doesn’t have to have been the furthest you’ve travelled or the most luxurious hotel you’ve stayed in either.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a holiday unforgettable.

Would you rather… Maldives or Amalfi Coast? 🏝️🇮🇹

Two very different holidays. Two very special reasons to celebrate.

I’ve recently booked clients heading to the Maldives for a 60th birthday, where they’ll be staying at Hakuraa Huraa – think turquoise water, white sand and that wonderful feeling of being a million miles away from everyday life.

And for another couple, a 30th wedding anniversary on the Amalfi Coast, staying at the beautiful Botanico San Lazzaro. Gorgeous Italian scenery, wonderful food and plenty of opportunities to raise a glass to 30 years together. 🥂

Both are fantastic choices for a milestone celebration… but I want to know which you’d choose.

🏝️ Maldives – barefoot luxury, complete relaxation and the Indian Ocean on your doorstep.

🍋 Amalfi Coast – spectacular views, Italian food, pretty towns and days spent exploring.

If someone handed you the tickets tomorrow, where are you going?

Hello September! 🍂✈️

I thought I’d start the month with a little look at what’s been keeping me busy behind the scenes lately… because no two bookings ever seem to be the same!

I’ve been arranging everything from a 60th birthday in the Maldives and a 30th wedding anniversary on the Amalfi Coast, to a 50th birthday combining Singapore and Bali.

There’s been a family twin-centre in Copenhagen and Malmö, an Australian adventure with Hong Kong stopovers, a road trip from Porto all the way down to the Algarve, and even a 2027 trip to Lapland to meet Santa. 🎅

And amongst all those bigger adventures, there have been family sunshine holidays, city breaks, a babymoon and late-summer escapes closer to home too.

It’s one of the things I love about this job. One minute I’m looking at an overwater bungalow in the Maldives, the next I’m working out the best route through Portugal!

So this September, I’m going to share a few more of the real holidays I’ve been putting together for my clients – where they’re going, where they’re staying and, most importantly, why we chose them.

Another busy month… thank you! ❤️

As another month comes to a close, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has booked with me, recommended me, shared my posts or simply followed along.

It’s been a pleasure helping so many of you plan everything from relaxing beach escapes to once-in-a-lifetime adventures, and I never take your support for granted.

Now I’m looking ahead to an exciting few months, including my own trip to India in October. It’s a destination I’ve wanted to experience for a long time, and I can’t wait to share it with you when I get back.

Five holiday upgrades that genuinely make a difference… and one that usually doesn’t. ✈️

Not every upgrade is worth paying for.

But these are the ones I think can genuinely improve your holiday…

✅ Premium Economy on the right long-haul flight – More space and a more comfortable journey can make a real difference, especially on overnight flights.

✅ A room with a view – If you’re spending time on your balcony or terrace, waking up to the ocean, a vineyard or the African bush is something you’ll remember long after you’ve returned home.

✅ Private transfers – After a long flight, heading straight to your hotel instead of stopping at multiple resorts is a luxury that’s often worth every penny.

✅ An extra night – One more night can completely change the feel of a holiday, giving you time to relax instead of rushing from place to place.

✅ A better hotel location – Being able to walk to restaurants, cafés and attractions often adds far more to your holiday than another swimming pool or a longer facilities list.

❌ The one I’d think twice about?

Paying a premium simply because a hotel has another star.

A higher star rating doesn’t automatically mean you’ll have a better holiday. I’d rather recommend the hotel that’s right for you than the one with the biggest price tag.

Some upgrades are worth every penny.

Others… not so much.

The part of my job nobody really sees… ✈️

When you receive your itinerary, it should look simple.

A few flights. A handful of hotels. Some transfers. Maybe a tour or two.

What you don’t see are all the decisions that happened before that.

Comparing different flight routes to avoid unnecessary waiting around.

Working out whether three nights is enough in one place or whether four would make the whole trip flow better.

Checking transfer times, making sure connections are realistic, choosing hotels that complement each other rather than all feeling the same, and building an itinerary that feels exciting without becoming exhausting.

It’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work.

But that’s exactly how it should be.

Because when everything has been carefully thought through, your holiday feels effortless. You simply enjoy the journey, while I’ve already worried about the logistics.

For me, that’s what tailor-made travel is all about.

🇻🇳 Vietnam – A brilliant choice if you love culture, incredible food and holidays that combine bustling cities, beautiful coastline and fascinating history. It’s ideal for travellers who enjoy exploring.

🇱🇰 Sri Lanka – One of the most varied destinations I’ve ever come across. Tea plantations, ancient temples, wildlife, beaches and warm hospitality all come together in one unforgettable itinerary.

🇿🇦 South Africa – Perfect if you’re looking for a holiday that’s packed with variety. Think Cape Town, the Winelands, an unforgettable safari and the option to finish with a few days by the sea or in Mauritius.

If you’ve reached the point where you’re looking for something beyond the familiar, these are the kinds of holidays that create memories you’ll still be talking about years later.

If you know me… 😄

…you’ll know I love finding the hotel people come home talking about.

Not necessarily the biggest.

Not necessarily the most expensive.

Just the one that’s right.

The one where the staff remember your name, the location is spot on, breakfast becomes the highlight of the morning and you find yourself saying, “Can we stay just one more night?”

I have been known to spend far longer than most people would consider normal comparing hotels that look almost identical on paper. I’ll happily read review after review, compare locations, room types and little details that most people would never notice.

Why?

Because those little differences often make the biggest difference to your holiday.

When a client comes back saying, “That hotel was absolutely perfect,” I know all that detective work was worth it.

It’s probably one of my favourite parts of the job… and yes, I genuinely enjoy it!
