What a day! 💚💛
Yesterday we welcomed our local community for a day of live music, family fun, games, food, face painting, our silent disco and plenty of sunshine - all with one very important reason behind it. 🚁❤️
Together, we have raised an amazing £2062.50 for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance! 🎉
Truckload was planned as an idea to bring people together, have some fun and raise as much money as we could for an incredible local charity. Seeing families enjoying the day, children getting stuck into the games, people dancing, our performers bringing the stages to life and so many of you staying with us throughout the day made all the hard work worthwhile.
And there are a lot of people to thank! ❤️
🎶 To our incredible performers - Adi Lee, Darryl Twitch Rushby, Carey-ann, PaperPlanes, Cult of the Velvet Rattlesnake, James Day, Guitarist On Wheels and Jacob Stafford - thank you for giving your time and talent to Truckload. From our Full Load main stage to our Helipad acoustic stage and right through to the evening DJ set, you were absolutely brilliant.
🍕 To our fantastic food vendors - Hidden Pizza, Harvey’s food trucks and The Marshfield Ice Box Company - thank you for keeping everybody fed (and very well fed!) throughout the day.
🎨 A huge thank you to Polly’s Fab Faces for creating some absolutely brilliant face paints for our younger Truckloaders!
🚁 And of course, thank you to the wonderful team from Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance who joined us on the day. Everything we did was ultimately about supporting the incredible work you do for our local communities.
We also want to say a huge thank you to Castle Cary RFC for providing our venue and supporting us in making the day possible.
And the biggest thank you of all has to go to our amazing volunteers. ❤️
From our PG team to friends and family, so many people gave up their own time - not just yesterday, but throughout the weeks and months leading up to Truckload - to organise, build, paint, make bunting, set up, run activities, sell tickets, help families and then pack everything away again at the end of a very long day!
So much of Truckload was made, donated, borrowed or volunteered, which meant we could keep our costs down and put the maximum possible towards Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.
And finally, thank you all.
To every person who bought a ticket and came along - whether you hooked a duck, had your face painted, tried your luck at the games, danced at the silent disco, watched our performers, grabbed some food or simply sat in the sunshine with a drink - by being there, you helped us support an amazing local charity. ❤️
We couldn’t be prouder.
We learnt a lot, laughed a lot, and our community came together to make something from scratch and raise a fantastic amount for a brilliant cause.
