Before heading out, take five minutes to check:
🌊 Tides & currents - especially around narrow channels and marina entrances
🌤️ Weather & wind - conditions can change quickly
⛽ Fuel levels - don't rely on being able to refuel when everywhere is busy
🚤 Your route - expect more traffic than usual
👀 Your surroundings - look out for paddleboarders, kayakers, swimmers and smaller craft
🦺 Safety equipment - make sure everything you need is aboard and accessible
