And I’m off! Singapore & Vietnam, here I come! 🇸🇬🇻🇳
Today I’m heading off on a 14-night adventure and I cannot wait to experience these two incredible destinations for myself.
One of the things I love most about working in travel is being able to actually experience the destinations I recommend.
Because there’s a big difference between reading about a hotel, destination or experience and actually being there.
Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be sharing plenty along the way — the hotels, food, sights, experiences and probably a few travel tips too!

How often do you get the chance to stand just 800 miles from the North Pole and call it “work”? 🧊🚢

Recently, I travelled to Svalbard, deep inside the Arctic Circle, for the CLIA Expedition Showcase.

Surrounded by glaciers, mountains and some truly breathtaking scenery, I spent several days exploring expedition ships, meeting expedition experts and learning more about voyages to destinations including Antarctica, Greenland and the Arctic.

But what actually makes an expedition cruise different?

I really liked Silver Spirit. She's one of Silversea's medium ships, so it feels much more relaxed and personal than the larger cruise ships.
She had a refurbishment in 2026, which included refreshed pool areas, an upgraded spa and fitness centre, new Medallion Suites, and enhancements to the onboard dining through Silversea's S.A.L.T. programme.
We ate in Atlantide and the food was lovely. In fact, the dining was excellent throughout the ship, and the service was exactly what you'd expect from Silversea. It's a great choice if you're looking for a luxury cruise with a more intimate feel. 🚢✨
