The next major Expedition that I am leading is to Scotland in October. I am excited to take our second group of students and my wife to enjoy all that the country offers. So, I went back and did some editing to just a few more of my Scotland 2024 images I had not worked with yet.

The light and the leading lines in this image of Eileen Donan Castle allowed one of the most special castles I had viewed photos of to come to life. It paid to get there early, not only for some morning light but also to get the chance to shoot this walkway before the gates opened to the public.

This was done with the Sony A7RIV camera and Sony 24-105mm lens. I was in aperture priority mode at F13 and 1/60th at ISO 400. , can't wait to travel with you again!

Scotland Expedition 2026 group photos

We returned to CLT on Tuesday evening after a great 9-day adventure in Scotland. This was the third year we hosted this tour, and while the weather was challenging, this group got to take in some new experiences and places, as well as enjoy some of the most special light on castles I have seen. They always wanted to be out shooting regardless of the rain, but we also enjoyed fun times, excellent food and lots of laughs.

The first photo was our complete group on the final evening of our trip. Many of the photos of us shooting were done by our guide, Iain MacRae. Speaking of Iain, he literally made our experience in this country what it was. He not only drove us all over, but he took many of these photos of us doing our thing, shared almost all of our meals with us, and watched out for our every need. Even in the first year, he and I became good friends and message each other almost every week. Check out the last photo of him and me together. Thank you, Iain, for how special you make our tours, and to the company you work for, Elite Golf Transport for setting us up with the best of the best.

Scotland Expedition 2026 group photos

We returned to CLT on Tuesday evening after a great 9-day adventure in Scotland. This was the third year we hosted this tour, and while the weather was challenging, this group got to take in some new experiences and places, as well as enjoy some of the most special light on castles I have seen.
