Service Update: Uig – Lochmaddy Sailings Cancelled

We have been advised that all sailings on the Uig – Lochmaddy route are cancelled today and tomorrow due to a vessel breakdown.

✅ Please note: We are still collecting and preparing loads as normal.

Staff Spotlight:

Cameron Mackay from our Inverness depot has recently achieved his Class 1 HGV qualification! 🎉

Cameron joined the DFDS team only a year ago and has quickly become a valuable member of our team. When he's not on the road, you can find him guarding the goalposts as one of the goalkeepers for Brora Rangers F.C. ⚽️

We have no doubt that Cameron will be a safe pair of hands behind the wheel as he continues his driving journey with DFDS. 🚚

What's even more special is that Cameron now joins the ranks alongside his dad, Andrew, who has over 16 years of service at our Inverness depot. A fantastic father and son duo dedicated to meeting our customers' needs!

We’re thrilled to announce the addition of 20 new Volvo trucks to our fleet, an investment we are proud of - in our commitment to supporting our Scottish network and providing the best service possible to our customers. Among these are four advanced Volvo Aero units, aerodynamically designed for enhanced fuel efficiency by up to 5% and environmental sustainability. Another leap in our efforts to minimise our carbon footprint!

🌟 Bringing Big Smiles to Little Faces in Stornoway! 🌟

Last week, our DFDS team had the absolute pleasure of visiting the wonderful children at the local playgroup in Stornoway. 🚛✨ Our friendly team of Neil Morrison and Paul Cowan visited the playgroup where the impressive truck was the star of the day, sparking curiosity among the little ones.

The kids got to explore the truck, ask questions, and learn about the exciting world of transport. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and new experiences. We believe in the power of community and are thrilled to have shared this special moment with our future drivers and dreamers.

Thank you to Stornoway Playgroup for welcoming us with open arms. We look forward to more opportunities to connect and inspire. 💙

Sneak peak of our recent photoshoot, capturing one of our trucks in all its glory coming off the Calmac ferry in Ullapool before cruising down the scenic route to our Inverness depot.
Not only did the sun make an appearance for most of the day, we even managed to capture the perfect shot on the rarely quiet Kessock Bridge! 🚛✨

🚴‍♂️ Hats off to our Western Isles Glasgow Depot Manager, Neil Morrison, for completing another annual Butt To Barra charity cycle last week! Neil joined 32 other determined cyclists on this epic 175-mile journey from the Butt of Lewis to Barra. This incredible challenge has raised a whopping combined total of over £27k for two amazing causes: the Bethesda Hospice and the Crossroads Lewis charity. Despite battling through tough Hebridean weather, the group reached Barra in high spirits!

We are proud to support and provide transport of bikes and equipment for another great event for the Western Isles community. It's not too late to support the teams amazing efforts - use the links below to make a donation. Well done, Neil and team! 👏🌧️🏅
